Matthew McConaughey's latest release, The Lost Bus, will be available to stream on Apple TV+ starting October 3, 2025.
Helmed by Paul Greengrass, the film is set during the 2018 Camp Fire. It follows the plot of how Kevin McKay, a resilient bus driver, strives to safeguard numerous school children from the deadly wildfire that engulfs the city. The film is based on Lizzie Johnson's 2021 book, Paradise: One Town's Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire.

The Lost Bus premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2025. It shortly opened in theaters on September 19, 2025. The release was limited to select cities, including Los Angeles, New York in the US, and London in the UK. The film was produced by Apple Studios, Comet Films, and Blumhouse Productions, with producers such as Brad Ingelsby, Gregory Goodman, Jason Blum, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Similarly, Jamie Lee Curtis also stated the importance of sharing this story with the world, as she said:
"When we see these stories, we think it could happen to anyone, but the reality is it happened to us. It wasn't easy to get here, but these stories are necessary."
