Late actor Tony Todd went off-script in the final scene of Final Destination Bloodlines. The helmers of the film, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, revealed this while speaking to ScreenRant. This was Tony Todd's last screen appearance.

When talking about the process Tony Todd had whilst acting out the scenes in the film, Zach Lipovsky stated:

And that kind of meta level you were talking about, sort of at the end, it was very much a moment of discovery that we did with him where we just said, "Throw away the script for a minute here. Just speak from the heart. What has this all been about? What's on your mind?" And he just said, "Life is precious. Savor every second that you got."

In the interview with ScreenRant, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein talked in detail about their experience of working with Tony Todd on his last film, Final Destination Bloodlines.

Adam Stein mentioned that they were not expecting this to be the last screen appearance for the actor, even though it was intended that this was the last time his character JB would be seen in this particular film franchise. Stein also talked about the emotional experience they had felt whilst working with him, as Tony Todd was very enthusiastic about being a part of this film:

"We didn't know that this would be his last movie, but we were pretty sure that this would be his last Final Destination movie, because these movies take years to make. He was quite sick even when we were making the movie. But he kept saying, "Don't write me out of this movie. I need to be in this movie." He was very joyful being on set, but it was quite an emotional time to be working with him."

Zach Lipovsky then added more about the process Tony Todd went through whilst embodying the role of William Bludworth one last time. He reveals that they completely went off-script with his final scene, and that is when Todd blurted out the lines that spoke volumes through complete improvisation. Lipovsky mentioned:

He was cherishing every moment, and filled it with so much life and joy, and that kind of stuck with all of us, and it really comes through in that moment."

Stein mentioned that Tony Todd's lines came straight from his heart:

"And it's him speaking from the heart to the audience."

It is delightful to know that Tony Todd's final parting gift to his audience was the line that came from the actor's innermost feelings. He had been associated with the franchise as William Bludworth since the beginning of it, starting from the original film Final Destination in 2000.

Other than his role as JB, the actor worked in films including the Candyman film franchise (1992-2001), The Pandora Project (1998), Hatchet (2006), The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (2006), Frankenstein (2015), Zombies (2016), The Changed (2021), Hellblazers (2022), The Nana Project (2023), Stream (2024), and many more.

Final Destination Bloodlines has been in the theatres since 16th May, 2025.
