Meryl Streep will be back as the witty and intimidating Miranda Priestly in the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada sequel. The production commenced by the end of June 2025. Since then, 20th Century Studios shared the first look at Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs in the film. A few days later, we get to see how Streep would look in the new movie.
The pictures show Streep in a similar look to the one from the first chapter, released over two decades ago. Her hair looks almost identically white and curled. Even now, she embodies Priestly's icy demeanor, even through a smirk. So, it will be interesting to see how her life has turned out after the aughts, with the steady decline of print media's overall influence.
What is Miranda Priestly up to in The Devil Wears Prada sequel?

The Devil Wears Prada 2 may not follow Miranda Priestly as the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, considering the drastic change in the media landscape where the reach of traditional media has significantly declined. So, she may not have the final say on things as she once used to. One of her old allies turns into her foe, according to the plot synopsis, which reads:
"The film follows Miranda Priestly's struggle against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amidst declining print media while Miranda nears retirement."
Emily Charlton stayed by Miranda's side through thick and thin at Runway, no matter what happened. Even when Andy decided to part ways, Emily stayed at her magazine job, working for Miranda. However, it's been almost two decades since we met these characters. So, they must have changed at least to a certain degree.
It's not clear what role Andy will play in this scenario. Will she be one of Emily's allies? Or will she return to help Miranda as she gets closer to her retirement? We might find more details about her arc soon.
