Jessica Biel, 43, was one of the stars who auditioned for the iconic 2004 romantic drama The Notebook. On the May 21 episode of The View, she recounted her unusual experience while auditioning for the role of Allie Hamilton, People Magazine reported.
During her appearance on the chat show, the I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry actress opened up about the audition that she gave while shooting for another project. She shared,
"We auditioned in my trailer at work, and I didn't get it, of course, we know this is the answer. But in my mind, I just remember having blood on me and being in that white tank top, and took my cowboy hat off, and was like, 'Okay, I'd love to fall in love with you, let's do this.'"

Jessica Biel opened up about her audition for The Notebook
The actress auditioned for The Notebook while she was shooting for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Recalling the audition, she explained,
"I was shooting the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I was super young, and I auditioned for The Notebook, which was going to be the greatest option for me in my career, like what an amazing thing to get after [Massacre]."
Jessica Biel further noted how The Notebook's lead actor, Ryan Gosling, and director Nick Cassavetes visited her on the sets of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to see her audition, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Ryan had already been cast to portray the role of Noah Calhoun in the classic Hollywood film.

She finished her audition story, describing the experience as,
"It was very strange, a very Hollywood moment, you know?"
The recent interview was not the first time Jessica Biel looked back on her audition opposite Ryan Gosling. In a 2011 interview with Elle magazine, The Better Sister actress discussed this audition, referring to Allie's part as "the one that got away."
Expressing her desire for the role, she had then explained,
"I was in the middle of shooting Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and I auditioned with Ryan Gosling in my trailer—covered in blood. [Director] Nick Cassavetes put me through the wringer in an interesting, excitingly creative way."
She added,
"But there's a million that get away. We're gluttons for punishment. It's just rejection."
In a 2021 conversation with E! News, Matthew Barry, the movie's casting director, revealed that Britney Spears, Kate Beckinsale, Jane McGregor, Jennifer Lawrence, and Reese Witherspoon were some of the popular stars who were considered for Allie's role in the beloved film.
According to People Magazine, Britney's audition for the movie was released in 2023. Following many auditions, the ultimate opportunity to portray the role of Allie Hamilton went to Rachel McAdams.
