The Texas flood around the Guadalupe River in the central parts of the state has resulted in the death of at least 81 people, according to NBC News. The disaster, which gripped Texas, has primarily impacted Kerr County in Texas Hill Country, where 68 people died in the floods, including 28 children, noted Reuters.
Celebrities are speaking out amid the tragic news of the rising death toll from the Texas flood. Entrepreneur and reality television personality Khloé Kardashian commented on the disaster on social media. Taking to her Instagram stories, Kardashian empathized with the families impacted, and wrote,
“I can't stop thinking about the families in Texas and the overwhelming pain they're going through right now. As a mother, this kind of tragedy hits in a place words can't reach. The loss of those sweet, innocent children is something I can't fully process. there are just no words for this.”
Continuing, Kardashian emphasized that the Texans affected by the floods are in her prayers, and added,
“My heart is so deeply aching for every parent, every family member, and every community. Please know that so many of us are carrying you in our hearts right now and I'm praying with everything I have in me for those still missing. Texas, we are holding you close.”

Celebrities and prominent figures speak out on the Texas flood
Former NBC News anchor and activist Maria Shriver reacted to the news of the Texas flood, and took to X to write,
“Today my prayers are with the families in Texas impacted by the flooding on the Guadalupe River in Central Texas. Right now they need us all to hold them in a circle of love.”
Calling attention to the tragic disaster at a summer camp, Camp Mystic in Kerr County, where many children died and many are still missing, Shriver wrote,
“Let’s unite to hold them, pray for them, and pray for the safe return of the more than 2 dozen girls from Camp Mystic in Kerr County, northeast of San Antonio, who were still unaccounted for by late Saturday morning. As a parent myself, my heart is with absolutely everyone who is feeling this loss. #TexasFlood”
Colombian pop star Shakira, who is on the North American leg of her 2025 tour, performed in San Antonio, Texas on July 5 at the Alamodome, as per Entertainment Now. Before the concert, Shakira expressed her grief at the tragedy that struck Texas, and—promising to donate a part of the proceeds from the concert to a charity providing relief in the wake of the Texas flood—wrote,
“Dear San Antonio, Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas. We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted."
Urging her followers and fans to also donate, the star commented on the Texas flood and added,
“If you would like to join me in donating, please click on the link below. Your help is important and appreciated.”
Former President Barack Obama reacted to the tragedy in a post on X. Lauding the efforts of rescue workers, Obama wrote,
“The flash flooding in Central Texas is absolutely heartbreaking. Michelle and I are praying for everyone who has lost a loved one or is waiting for news — especially the parents. And we’re grateful to the first responders and rescue teams working around the clock to help.”

Many well-known personalities belonging to the state took to social media to speak out after the disastrous Texas flood. Actress Jennifer Garner wrote a simple message on her Instagram stories to convey that Texas was in her thoughts and prayers. Garner, who was born in Texas, wrote,

Country singer Miranda Lambert, took to Instagram to share information about relief efforts in the state. The singer from Longview, Texas partnered with her non-profit organization to support efforts to provide relief to displaced animals and pets, as per USA Today. She posted a video on Instagram, the caption of which read:
“Texas needs our help. As always @muttnation Foundation is jumping in to support, and if you’d like to join us please support our fundraiser thinking of my home state right now. the floods are devastating and people are still missing.”
Singer Maren Morris, also from Texas, wrote on Instagram,
“thinking of my home state right now. the floods are devastating and people are still missing. there are several places to donate but i’ll be donating to an incredibly impactful fund called the Texas Hill Country Community Foundation.”
Encouraging her fans to contribute, Morris also shared that the foundation she had donated to would support local endeavors to provide relief during the Texas flood.
