The world is still waiting to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps kicking off Phase Six, which will begin the countdown to the end of the Multiverse Saga. Last night it had a world premiere, and following that, a 5-minute clip was released on the internet. Though there wasn't any big reveal, we got to see Marvel's first family actively saving the city, which is fun to watch.
We can also see one of Red Ghost's Super Apes fighting against Pedro Pascal's Mr. Fantastic, aka Reed Richards. Matt Shakman confirmed earlier that the role of John Malkovich, who was playing Red Ghost, was removed from the film.
The film's early reaction also tells us that Marvel Studios is getting its former grip back and seemingly ending its dry spell. There's reportedly a sequel planned too, but it won't be a part of Phase Six, though it might see the Marvel's first family becoming a part of the MCU officially.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps clip gives us a better look at the characters' powers
We are aware of the team's origin story, but the film won't be about that. However, a recap will be shown of how they got their powers to establish the retrofuturistic world we are about to see. The clip also portrays this in the form of a short story. That narration confirms that the team went up to space four years ago, where they were exposed to cosmic radiation.
That said, the first thing we see in the clip following their expedition is, well, the Thing, aka Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), punching his way out of the Fantastic Four ship. He is later seen jumping in the water and then pulling a burning ship out of the ocean, showcasing that The Fantastic Four: First Steps has given us another being with super strength.
The fiery Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, was seen helping the firefighters as we see a building in large flames, which he absorbs as soon as he approaches the affected region. Following that, everyone salutes as the day is saved. It's all cool.
Pedro Pascal's Mr. Fantastic finally had a chance to show his abilities in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. When the first trailer arrived, fans asked why his powers weren't showcased. They even thought that he didn't have any powers. Turns out they were all wrong.
We see him climbing a tower using his super elasticity. There, one of Red Ghost's Super Apes is waiting for him. He gives Mr. Fantastic a flying kick, but all it does is make him more of a slingshot, which kicks the hell out of this Super Ape.
Lastly, we have Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman, who can generate force fields. She is seen repairing a metro structure with her brother Johnny assisting, which was likely damaged during one of their battles, to avoid a potential disaster.
Additionally, there's a scene where Reed Richards is teaching kids on a large blackboard, telling them about alternate dimensions. It seems like kids aren't really interested in theory, but in an explosion. The Fantastic Four: First Steps clip also features Julia Garner's Shalla-Bal, aka Silver Surfer, but that is one of the scenes we have already seen in the film's trailer before.
