The first look of The Odyssey stars Anne Hathaway and Mia Goth has been freshly dropped by Empire. It is bound to make any Nolan fan scream with excitement!

As per the outlet, Goth will be portraying the role of Melantho, who works as a maid for Odysseus and his wife Penelope. Hathaway will be essaying the role of Penelope.

The much-awaited epic by Christopher Nolan is set to release next year, on 17th July 2026. Based on one of the greatest epics of Greek literature, the film explores the journey of Odysseus, who is striving to return to his wife after the events of the Trojan War.

As revealed by Empire, the first look of Anne Hathaway and Mia Goth in a still from The Odyssey looks incredibly exciting. In this brief first glimpse of Nolan’s take on the Greek epic, we witness an intense scene involving Hathaway’s Penelope and Goth’s Melantho.

Looking at the scene, it feels like a highly confrontational moment between the two in the interior of the palace. The atmosphere feels heavy and theatrical, hinting at elements of disagreement, challenges, emotional dilemma, and deceit. In fact, the outlet also reveals that Goth’s character is likely someone who is not entirely trustworthy. We shall only witness the actual scene when we watch the film next year.

We see Penelope in the foreground, donning a dark green dress with a red band at the waist. She is accessorized with layers of gold around her neck, resembling a royal choker. Her hair is tied in a high bun, and she is carrying a bow. Hathaway’s eyes reflect her emotional chaos behind her strong exterior.

Meanwhile, Melantho is standing far behind Penelope with her hands crossed. She is intently watching Penelope from behind. Even though her body language seems gentle, the stark expression in her eyes speaks volumes. She is seen wearing a long dark brown dress. Interestingly, the throne is placed just behind her.

Along with Anne Hathaway and Mia Goth’s look, Tom Holland and Matt Damon’s first looks have also been freshly revealed by Empire. They are playing the roles of Telemachus and Odysseus, respectively. The earliest first look of Matt Damon’s full guise as the mighty character was revealed earlier this year, in February, via the film’s official Instagram handle.

Apart from these stars, the cast of The Odyssey also includes Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, and many others.
