Tom Holland's return to the MCU as Spider-Man will be more exciting as the star reveals another exciting detail about Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He recently spoke with LADbible about the creative process behind this movie, which is currently being filmed in the UK. In this conversation, he revealed that he values Marvel fans and hopes to give them what they want. He said,
“I have been actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what it is that the fans want from a Spider-Man movie, and that's been my driving force in these pitch meetings."
He continued,
“I think the producers, at times, were like, absolutely sick of me, but I think it's really important, because we make these movies for [the fans].”
As Holland revealed, fans are excited for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to be released next year. Marvel has been keen not to share any plot details about the project. However, fans have been speculating about the web-slinger's fate and theorizing who he will be up against in the next chapter of his MCU adventure.
Hence, Holland's recent comments may offer some assurance to his fans, who might have certain expectations about his new movie. They must be looking forward to it, hoping it to be just as exciting as Holland's previous work in this franchise.
Tom Holland also talks about his MCU future after Spider-Man: Brand New Day
It has been over a decade since Tom Holland put on his Spider-Man suit to play the hero as his teenage self. Now, he is in his late twenties. So, it feels like he has grown up with the character he has played on screen.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks his fourth standalone MCU film as the wall-crawling hero, besides the three team-up projects where he was part of the ensemble cast. Unlike before, when Peter had to face bigger, multiverse-level threats, the new project will show him fighting the villains in New York City. That's not the only significant change in the new movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will also show Holland in a brand new suit, which looks closer to how Spider-Man is depicted in the comics. It reminded some fans of Tobey Maguire's suit from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies, while others found it more comic-appropriate than Holland's previous suit. Holland also spoke about this topic during the LADbible interview, saying,
“What's been really fun about this most recent movie is designing the suit and being a part of that process and understanding what we wanted to try and achieve.”
As he reprises this role for the eighth time, fans are curious about his future in the franchise. They want to know if there will be a follow-up MCU film after Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The actor spoke about it, but didn't offer a clear answer.
“I think with anything, it's all about what's in front of you, and right now what's in front of us is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and focusing on making that movie worthy of the last film," said Holland
Besides Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also reprise their roles in the movie as MJ and Ned Leeds, respectively. The Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, The Bear star Liza Colón-Zaya, and the Severance star Tramell Tillman will appear alongside them in yet-undisclosed roles.
Mark Ruffalo will join as Bruce Banner (Hulk), Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (Punisher), and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan (Scorpion).
Sony Pictures Releasing will theatrically release the movie on July 31, 2026.
