His music is influenced by his community, where everyone knew each other. His music reflects small-town atmosphere, economic struggles, and close community ties. He was exposed to music, including a mix of rock, jazz, and blues, from an early age. At his young age, he was also profoundly influenced by Elvis Presley. His 1956 appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show was a pivotal moment in his life.

A report in Distractify mentioned how his mother, Adele, worked hard to make ends meet for their family as they faced financial struggles for years. But, despite their struggles, they never stepped back from supporting their son, Bruce Springsteen.

The 75-year-old rock singer called his mother “real smart, real strong, real creative,” according to a report in Distractify. He admired her for buying him a guitar with her hard-earned money, which set him on his path to a musical career.

Speaking about his relationship with his parents, Bruce Springsteen told Esquire magazine in 2018:

“My mother was kind and compassionate and very considerate of others’ feelings. She trod through the world with purpose, but softly, lightly. All those were the things that aligned with my own spirit. That was who I was. They came naturally to me.”

He then added:

“My father looked at all those things as weaknesses. He was very dismissive of primarily who I was. And that sends you off on a lifelong quest to sort through that.”

Springsteen had a complicated relationship with his father, Douglas Springsteen, which also inspired several of his songs, including - Independence Day, Adam Raised a Cain. He also spoke about his relationship with his father in interviews, where he described how simple conversations between them would turn into screaming matches. Douglas passed away in 1998, per the Los Angeles Times.
