Actor Tom Troupe died on July 20 of natural causes, according to a statement from his family’s spokesperson. The actor was married to Carole Cook, who passed away in 2023 in her Beverly Hills house. The cause of her death was reportedly declared as heart failure.

Cook was an American actress who was not only an active presence on screen but also in theaters. She appeared on many shows, including The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, My World and Welcome To It, Sixteen Candles, and American Gigolo. She last appeared in a musical/comedy titled Still Waiting in the Wings (2017), according to IMDb.


When did Tom Troupe marry Carole Cook?

Tom Troupe married Carole Cook in 1964, and the couple remained together for nearly six decades until her death in 2023. Before marrying Cook, he was reportedly married to Sally Singer from 1955 to 1962.

Tom and Carole appeared together on stage in many plays, including The Lion in Winter, The Gin Game, and Father’s Day.

Additionally, she appeared in an episode of Grey's Anatomy and That Girl, which added to her recognition. She also dubbed the singing voice for Lucille Ball in Jack Benny's Birthday Special.

The couple were often seen together in public and were known for their close bond. Tom was also present at the time of Carole's passing, as revealed by Mark Cocanougher in a statement shared on Facebook:

"My dear aunt Carole died this afternoon, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 1:58 pm. She was at home, in her own bed, her husband Tom and I at her side, each holding her hand."

He further added in the statement:

"Thank you all for your kind expressions of sympathy, and for sharing your impressions and reminiscences. I know this is meaningful to Tom, and all of Carole’s family, and I’m grateful for such an outpouring of affection and admiration."

Remembering Tom following his passing, Michael Stern, the author of I Had a Ball: My Friendship with Lucille Ball, wrote on Facebook:

"A long life lived. Today, we say goodbye to a wonderful man, Tom Troupe. Actor, Director, husband and father. I knew Tom for over 40 years as he was married to actress, Carole Cook. Both are now back together. He was 97."
