Courtroom Humiliations and Grinch-y Situations: General Hospital Two Scoops For the Week of December 22, 2025

General Hospital's very own Grinch tried to steal Christmas | Image: ABC

Yes, General Hospital presented us with the tender and good that we have come to expect this Christmas week, with a heartwarming Christmas Eve reunion we'll never forget. But it also got deep down and soapy, with two of our favorite characters completely humiliating themselves in court, while our absolute least favorite character tried doling out punishment as a result.

So, that Grinch who stole Port Charles was ready to also steal Christmas from his own child because there is no more horrible character on soaps than Drew Cain. He spent his week ready to ruin Christmas for anyone who didn't make him happy and was willing to use his daughter to do it. And that was our sad, sad situation story of the week. But at least we also had some happy endings.

"You're not going to get the answer you're looking for..."

Poor Portia told all | Image: ABC

Who didn't want to just give poor Portia a big ol' hug while poor Alexis fished for the wrong information in court? Portia knew where this was heading. The audience knew where this was heading. (Soap Central even predicted it.) But Alexis had no idea where this was heading, so she just kept on going. We wanted to cover our eyes, but we couldn't look away. The train had left the station and Portia was going to have to tell her truth, something Portia is not typically very good at.

But guess what? After Portia's testimony, that horrifying congressman who can put half of real-life DC to shame (only half), was told to expect a call from the district attorney's office. He committed a crime, and while some public officials now have court-approved rights to commit crimes, congressmen do not. Good luck, Drew.

Now back to Portia. That woman finally laid it all on the table, and there is no going back. Will the truth finally set Portia free, or is someone about to turn the tables on her? Someone who could have better access to the General Hospital lab than she does at the moment...Oh, Brad...

Now, let's not forget about Trina's reaction to this mess. First, we have no idea why Trina forgot that she has a whole other dad who raised her. Second, she is a grown woman still worried about her parents' marital problems when A-they have only been a parental unit to her for since she was 21 and B-this is none of her business. So, sit down, Trina, and stop kissing Jordan's a$$. She still had no right to have an emotional affair with Curtis while he was married to Portia, and she certainly had no right to blab Portia's VERY personal business all over town.

Ooops, that wasn't supposed to happen

Alexis, like everyone else on Soap Opera Earth, has had it with Drew | Image: ABC

Welp, at least Alexis was able to keep her composure during her own humiliated moment in court when she failed to place suspicion on someone else and instead exposed a woman's extramarital affair on the stand.

We wanted to stop Alexis as badly as Portia did as we watched what we knew would be a trainwreck unfold. That left Alexis fearing she would never see Scout again, as Drew, being the most horrible character on soaps, would surely try to withhold access. And he did.

But Alexis also knows she laid a woman's dirty laundry out to bare, which had nothing to do with Willow's case at all. For a lawyer like Alexis, that is blasphemy, but at least something good happened...thanks to Willow (for a change).

This is your dude, Willow...

Willow knows who she married, but is staying married to him anyway because she thinks the man who helped her lose her kids is the one who is going to get them back for her. After all, he can reach across the ocean, so surely he can get custody of her kids while also making sure she is acquitted for trying to shoot him.

Well, maybe if your blackmailing louse of a husband hadn't forced your lawyer to defend you by threatening to take her grandchild away, you'd get a better defense. Perhaps it's not a good idea when your lawyer is forced to take your case because they think they will never see their dead child's only daughter again.

After Willow's move of bad move after selfish move after nutty move, she finally gets one point in 2025 for convincing the monster she married on Thanksgiving to let his daughter see her grandmother and aunts on Christmas. It's the one thing Willow has gotten right the entire year. And she had to be the one to explain to Drew, like he was five, that not allowing Alexis to see her grandchild actually hurt Scout. For some absolutely bizarre reason, this never even occurred to him. Cause Drew is Drew. If Willow really was the one who shot him (twice, and we think she was), then we will count that as one of Willow's half-good deeds of the year. Only half, because we are still stuck with Drew. And so is Willow.

Carly's mitzvah for Valentin

Willow performed a mitzvah for Scout and the Davis Girls, while Carly performed a mitzvah for Charlotte and Valentin. And we admit it. We were verklempt. We have a love-hate relationship with Carly because she can really be quite a pill at times, but she often comes through, as well. This week, she came through in spades when she found a silly and innocuous reason to get Charlotte into her attic so she could see her dad on Christmas Eve.

Valentin and Charlotte's father-daughter relationship is one of the best on soaps, and Valentin is our beloved French-speaking, weeping, piano-playing, Billy Joel-singing boyfriend, so it just worked. Val can also be a bit of a pill, but he showed Carly his tender side for a split second when he genuinely thanked her for her hospitality. Who cares if he nearly killed her earlier this year? Carly and Valentin are now a team. And yeah, it's weird, but it works.

Molly and Cody...Squeeee!!!

They kissed. They're cute. And they are everything we need. And so is Cody sitting on the couch, eating Noodle Buddha and watching Hallmark movies with the Davis Girls. More of this, please. That is all.

The General Hospital maestro is back

Gio brightened our whole Christmas week | Image: ABC

General Hospital closed out Christmas week with a song. O Holy Night, to be specific. And how perfect was it when Gio picked up that violin, Brook Lynn put her hand on her son's shoulder as support, and he started to play. It's been more than seven months since we heard the extraordinary sounds that Giovanni Mazza produces when he puts bow to strings, but the dry spell is over. Gio now has a new violin and all is right in the Port Charles world.

Till next week, Scoopers, when we will relive Luke Spencer's last stand in Port Charles, and maybe figure out who actually shot Drew (Nellow!) as the new year begins.

Catch all-new episodes of General Hospital weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
