General Hospital: Best of the Week, September 1 - September 5, 2025
Welcome to the Best of the Week for General Hospital where we highlight some of the week’s stand out moments, scenes, notables, quotables, fashion, and more!
GENERAL HOSPITAL’S BEST OF THE WEEK

MOMENTS

Portia’s surgical prowess
Portia totally spaced out as Drew began to code on the operating table yet, according to what Lucas said later, she saved his life. I’m very curious if this moment was meant to be of any future significance. Was it almost negligence? Was it almost murder on the operating table? Did she leave a scalpel inside of him on purpose? Will a Junior Mint save his life? I need to know!
SCENES

Drew’s Shooting
The entire episode beautifully built up to this intense moment that was a long time coming. Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) misdeeds and egomaniacal behavior finally escalated to a level that was no longer sustainable. In his final minutes, Drew took Lila’s wedding ring out of the safe and placed it on the mantle in front of a picture of he and Willow. He smugly raised a glass to himself, and appeared ever-confident that he was going to get Willow back as well as get the revenge he sought on all those he felt wronged by. However, instead of continuing to get what he wanted, he finally became a victim of the consequences of his own actions when someone in the shadows shot him twice in the back.
The Rounding of the Suspects Montage
The ending sequence to Thursday’s episode felt like a fitting nod to an Agatha Christie novel and her iconic character, Hercule Poirot. Most of Anna’s message to Chase was heard in voiceover. As Anna (Finola Hughes) contemplated the myriad of possible motives that led someone to shoot Drew with intent to kill, we saw some of the major suspects move about their evening and were left trying to figure out which one of them finally snapped and did it.
Honestly, bravo and brava to the writers as well as the cast and crew for bringing these scenes to life. After months of feeling Drew was unstoppable, they brought an intense and satisfying crescendo to the story as well as ushered in an entertaining Whodunnit that is sure to keep us guessing for a while!
NOTABLES

Tracy was one of the few who seemed at all disturbed by Drew’s shooting. Having been the one who found him, she was traumatized by the sight of his almost lifeless body as well as the prospect of what his death would do to Monica. Continuing to prove herself as the Quartermaine matriarch, she saved Drew by getting an ambulance in time, protected Michael whom she thought might be guilty, and kept Monica from finding out. As always, Jane Elliot (Soap Central’s General Hospital Performer of the Week) is a joy to watch as she deftly switches emotions and elevates every scene she is in.
QUOTABLES

Ava: “Well, you keep any bubbly on hand?” Kristina: “Ava, my mom is sober.” Ava: “Oh, right. Well that’s too bad. If there was ever a time to raise a glass to your mother, this is it.” - Ava’s response to thinking Alexis shot Drew
“I’m sorry, what?” - Chase expressing everyone’s sentiment when responding to Willow telling him she was getting back together with Drew
“Being a hero is how Drew keeps Willow tied to him.” - Chase to Anna
“They ought to keep Ric nice and docile during his stay here at Casa Davis.” - Ava to Kristina when giving her the sleeping pills for Ric
“I was downstairs with our house guest all night.” - Alexis telling Ava & Kristina that she was with Ric, who is still captive in the basement, when Drew was shot
“There’s nothing more dangerous than a man with a delusion and power.” - Tracy talking to Brook Lynn about Drew
“Let’s put some coffee on and make this alibi airtight. Shall we? “ - Ava agreeing to be part of Alexis’ alibi
“Cause nothing says ‘I’m innocent’ like slipping in through the back door.” - Ava to Alexis in regards to Drew’s shooting
Colette: “Banishing me won’t erase your negligence.” Brennan: “No, but it will lower my blood pressure.”
“I would take it as a personal favor if not one of them included Tracy Quartermaine’s bedroom.” - Diane telling Sonny he needed an alibi while referencing his last alibi for Jagger Cates’ murder (having sex with Carly in Tracy’s bedroom)
“It’s hard enough keeping Ric locked up in the basement while Molly is staying here. You want Scout to go exploring and find Molly’s father captive down there with a ball gag in his mouth?” - Kristina explaining to Alexis why it would be a bad idea to have Scout stay with them at the house
FASHION

Diane’s Hot Pink Blazer with Puffed Shoulders by Zara - Vibrant color, like the puffed shoulder...it gives volume without looking like a linebacker
Anna’s Slade Ponte Blazer in Camel by Rag and Bone - So much here to love…the color, the tailoring, the double-flap front pocket on one side, the detail on the buttons
Anna’s Minimal Trench Coat in Pale Blue by Coach - Classic design, nice color, like the contrast of the brown belt
Trina’s Cobalt Blue Coat - Obsessed with the color; I tried in vain to find information about this coat, but there are many similar ones out there.

Tracy’s Long Tailed Bird White on Grey Dressing Gown Kimono by Susannah Cotton - Comfortable, yet chic
Michael's black shirt with white-trimmed sleeves - I thought he looked good.
Kristina’s Light Blue & White Pinstriped Utility Shirt by Babaton at Aritzia - Kate Mansi wears the relaxed, drapey look so well.
Lulu’s Toulouse Cardigan in Black by L’Agence - Like the welt pockets and gold embossed buttons
Alexis’ Black Habotai Bodysuit by Norma Kamali with Black Pants - Really loved this look on her - sophisticated, yet relaxed and not boring
MUSINGS

I also got a kick out of Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Portia…Dancing around the fact they thought the other might be guilty, getting questioned by Lulu, and then getting surprised by Jacinda!
It was funny to see that most reactions to Drew’s shooting ranged from stoic to indifferent to downright gleeful.
Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) came in clutch for Trina.
After seeing Judge Heran’s body, Sonny actually told Danny and Rocco to call the police - that’s personal growth!
I think I want them to give Danny and Rocco a Hardy Boys-like mystery to solve.
At the Brown Dog bar, Nina acknowledged her misguided actions negatively affected other people - that’s also personal growth!
Elizabeth’s defense and advocacy of Willow seems oddly excessive.

Jason and his assailant were like a cute couple who coordinates outfits.
I got a kick out of Willow and Nina’s argument where it seemed like Nina was finally getting a bit annoyed with Willow.
People always think Carly has more power and control over Michael, Jason, & Sonny than she actually does.
