General Hospital's Daniel Goddard teases spicy story for Dalton

On General Hospital, Professor Henry Dalton has been the driver of some of the show’s most dangerous and intriguing storylines this year.

His mysterious research was at the center of the explosive drama at the Five Poppies resort in Croatia. His work was being hand-delivered from Port Charles to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) so she could do mysterious science stuff with it at a secret lab on the property. The work is important and top-secret enough that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) has made it a priority for the World Security Bureau. He sent Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Agent Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) to Croatia to try to get information on the project, and it nearly cost them their lives. And the lab was destroyed.

Meanwhile, Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner), who knew Dalton at school in California, has been investigating him for several months as she thinks he is illegally experimenting on animals. She has been trying to gain his trust and get access to his own secret lab, with help from Gio (Giovanni Mazza).

There has been little movement on that front for a while, as Dalton and his portrayer, Daniel Goddard, have been scarce on General Hospital in the last couple of months. Dalton and Emma had a brief conversation in the September 12th episode in which he seemed to want to tell her a secret. But before that, his last appearance was more than five weeks prior.

That may change soon, as Goddard teased his return to the show on his Instagram account September 23rd. And he promised there would be some drama upcoming.

He said he had left the General Hospital studio for the day. Goddard said he just worked with an actor he hadn’t worked with before during his run on the show. He captioned the post, “Clean shaved, big smile, and new scene partner… #GH is about to get spicy. #grateful. In the accompanying video, he said, “It’s about to get spicy… Who do you think it is?” Then, he invited fans to guess in the comments, promising to call the first fan who got it right.

The possibilities are endless, since Dalton’s interactions on the General Hospital canvas have mostly been limited to Emma, Joss, and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).

Several fans guessed Britt, which seems logical. Others figured it is Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), and a few think it’s Outback the beagle. One fan said, “Just don’t kidnap Outback lol”

Other guesses included Faison (Anders Hove), Sidwell (Carlo Rota), Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), Ava (Maura West), Erika Slezak’s mystery character, and Britt’s boss in Croatia, Pascal (Marc Forget).

Whoever it is, it seems Dalton will still be involved with the story as the mystery behind his research continues. The mysterious man running things in Croatia is still in contact with Britt, and it's logical that soon we will see Dalton's reaction to the lab being destroyed and we will find out how much he knows about what was going on there. And Sidwell is involved in the operation, too.

Fans are welcoming the return of Dalton and Goddard, the former Young and the Restless star, to stir up some trouble and potential danger in Port Charles. The Instagram user christinatrafficante__ said, ”You look really happy Daniel and you deserve it... you are always so kind and show such love for your family and fans and life in general. You are a bright light and your posts always shine with positive energy... ✨️🥰♥️♥️♥️ So happy for you ...Bless you and the family love light grace.”
