The citizens of Port Charles had their ups and downs on General Hospital in 2025.
That’s expected, because what is a soap opera without drama, romance, heartbreak and danger on a daily basis. Characters go through struggles and have their lives or careers threatened, but they also have great moments and days filled with happiness.
General Hospital characters had drama in 2025
Characters on General Hospital had their ups and downs but some enter 2026 on a massive high after handling adversity and having great things happen at the end of the year. Of course, they are likely to find more conflict in the new year, but they are loving life now. Here are six characters who had a great 2025.

Brook Lynn and Gio
Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) spent a lot of time on General Hospital in 2025 worrying about her children. When she wasn’t discussing with Chase (Josh Swickard) their inability to conceive a child, she was searching for the son she gave up for adoption when she was a teenager.
Brook Lynn and Chase searched for her lost child, not knowing he was already in the house in the form of Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza), whom Brook Lynn knew when he was a little boy. Meanwhile, Gio had no idea that Camilla Palmieri wasn’t his biological mother.
Those secrets crashed down at the Nurses’ Ball, of course, when Gio overheard Lulu (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Lois (Rena Sofer) talking about his biological parents, Brook Lynn and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). And he revealed all on stage before destroying his violin in a fit of rage.
After months of tension between Gio and his birth parents, things thawed in a big way between him and his mother at least. That culminated in Gio playing his violin for Brook Lynn and the Quartermaines. And his new girlfriend, Emma (Braedyn Bruner).
Gio has a deep and loving family now with the Quartermaines and the Corinthos clan looking out for him. Gio and Emma are already a sweet couple and spent New Year’s Eve together with Outback. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn and the Qs have weathered the storm over Monica’s death and the ownership battle over the mansion, and Ned’s (Wally Kurth) heart attack. And while BLQ has concerns over Chase backing Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) in her trial, she has a lot of reason to smile. At least until the next Deception crisis.

Molly and Cody
After spending New Year’s Eve together as a new couple, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Cody (Josh Kelly) have a lot of reason to be optimistic heading into the new year. Molly has been recovering from the loss of her sister Sam (Kelly Monaco) and her child Irene.
Cody has spent a lot of time this year getting closer to the Scorpio family and being an uncle to James (Gary James Fuller). His time in Port Charles has involved scheming mostly for money for himself, but in 2025, he spent a lot of time lying to help other people. He hid the fact that he knew Brook Lynn was pregnant back when they were teens. Kristina (Kate Mansi) paid him to try to seduce Ava (Maura West) away from Ric. He lied to help Tracy (Jane Elliot) get out of legal trouble when Drew (Cameron Mathison) had her arrested for drugging him with ketamine. Most recently on General Hospital, he is keeping the secret that Ric was being held captive on Alexis’s property (Nancy Lee Grahn) after Ric asked him to keep it to himself.
Cody and Molly enter 2026 in the throes of a new romance. Molly is happy about bonding with Kristina again. But if Molly ever finds out all the stuff Kristina has been hiding from her, and that Cody has helped her hide some of it, that will definitely change.
Jacinda

The escort turned Crimson assistant (Paige Herschell) has seen her life change dramatically on General Hospital, entering 2026. She has gone from a call girl entertaining powerful clients and politicians to the new assistant at Crimson for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). And she has a new romance going with Michael (Rory Gibson) while he pays her to provide his alibi for the night of Drew’s shooting.
Jacinda has become a popular new character to General Hospital fans, and she has a lot of reason to hope for good tidings in 2026. It’s an open question if Michael is truly falling for her or, as Tracy recently suggested, just using her to help him. And if Drew or someone else proves they’re lying about their alibi, her world could crash in a heartbeat. But for now, Miss Bracken (who is a musician in real life) is singing a happy tune.
Liesl

General Hospital's favorite mutter came back to Port Charles to chat with Rocco (Finn Carr) over the circumstances of his birth. She eventually reunited with her children, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey), after they both came back to the land of the living. She doesn’t know any more than we do about the scope of Britt’s research and life in Croatia, or where Nathan was the last seven years. But for now, she is loving life. She had a nice moment on Christmas when Britt texted her that she got her medical license back.
Eventually, the true danger of Faison’s final project, and how Nathan fits in, if at all, will come to light on General Hospital. Liesl, who partnered with Faison (Anders Hove) on many evil schemes, will no doubt fight as hard for her children as she stood up for Willow in Greenland. But for now, she is loving life in the new year.
