Jessie J has revealed she was recently hospitalized due to a possible infection, just six weeks after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.

The songstress shared a health update via Instagram Stories on Sunday, Aug. 3, telling fans she was dealing with “a little fluid on my lungs.” Though she said doctors ran numerous tests, she explained she’s “still trying to figure out” the cause.

Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, first shared her breast cancer diagnosis in June, describing it as “early.”

In July, she told fans that the results looked positive and that “the cancer had not spread.” Even so, she acknowledged that “lots of healing” remained ahead.

Now, she says this latest health scare has pushed her to slow down.

“This isn't a speedy recovery. And it isn't meant to be. That slow pace has been a hard reality to accept tbh.”

She added:

“I love moving and working and being up and active but I can't be right now, and that's what it is.”

Still, the “Price Tag” singer hasn’t lost her sense of humor. Later the same day, she posted another update jokingly diagnosing herself with being “dramatic.”

“My symptoms are the same and no idea what's wrong yet. But my sarcasm and sense of humor are holding on.”

“All gone”: Jessie J opens up about beating breast cancer

Jessie J’s hospitalization comes a month after she made a post-surgery update about her health, revealing that her recent surgery was successful and that her cancer is gone.

In an Instagram Story, the "Flashlight" hitmaker wrote:

“Pros: Cancer has all gone.”

She also confirmed that her mastectomy and reconstructive surgery had gone well.

“My nipple is where it used to be.”

Weeks before this update, Jessie J told her fans she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in April. At the time, she noted that she would make one public appearance at the Capital Summertime Ball on June 15 before undergoing her medical procedures.

She also thanked her close support circle, including her boyfriend Chanan Colman and their two-year-old son, Sky.

“My mom lives with us. Sky just being Sky. Chanan making me feel safe and the messages are 10/10.”

Despite the relief of a successful operation, Jessie J acknowledged some of the emotional and physical challenges she’s still facing.

“Not being able to be the mum I'm used to being and not picking Sky up or the person I'm used to being tbh. I don't sit down ever. lol.”

She continued:

“The fear of not knowing if the cancer is all gone.”

Still, Jessie J had been focusing on rest and recovery, using humor and honesty to share her experience.

“I can watch Love Island with no guilt. I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever.”
