Scottish musician Midge Ure has officially announced the cancellation of his world tour dates from September 2025 onwards. He has cited a health issue that requires "urgent treatment" and a period of recovery.

The news comes as a disappointment to fans across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the US, where shows had been planned as part of his Catalogue: The Hits Tour. Midge Ure will continue to perform select shows through August 2025, including dates in the UK and mainland Europe. However, all later shows have been postponed until further notice.

The 71-year-old singer is best known as the frontman of Ultravox and co-founder of Live Aid. He shared the news via social media and his website and asked fans for understanding and privacy during this time. Ure did not disclose details about the health issue but stated that it had been discovered during a routine medical check-up.

Midge Ure's complete statement regarding the tour cancellation

Midge Ure took to his official Instagram handle to announce the tour cancellation. The post read:

"Dear friends, it is with great sadness and difficulty that I have to reschedule all shows planned from September onwards aiming to be back on the road again by later this year. During a recent routine check-up, doctors discovered a health issue that requires urgent treatment and a period of recovery. I know many of you travel great distances, often across borders to attend the shows, and I never take that support for granted. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this causes to your plans."

Ure added:

"I remain fully committed to performing all shows currently scheduled for this month and I'm looking forward to being out there with you for as long as I'm able. Let me reassure you that the A Man Of Two Worlds tour is very much going ahead. I'm aiming to be back on the road again as soon as possible and looking forward to getting back out there and sharing this music with you all."

Midge Ure concluded the announcement, stating:

"My team and I are working closely with promoters to reschedule the affected dates, and we will share updates on my Facebook page as soon as we have them. I kindly ask that you respect the privacy of myself and my family during this difficult time. Thank you, as always, for your understanding, patience, and unwavering support. It truly means a great deal. With thanks and love, Midge"

Despite the cancellations, Midge Ure will continue with his scheduled performances this August. The remaining date is Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Cardiff, UK, at Tiger Yard.
