Once upon a time, Diddy was famous and successful in the music industry. He was well-known and respected for his work and connections. Fast forward to 2025, Sean John Combs is on trial for different charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His trial began on May 5, 2025, with a jury selection. However, many have pointed out how the rap mogul does not seem to have many A-listers defending him during his time of need.

People and experts have spoken out on why Diddy's colleagues or high-profile friends are not seen backing him up during his trial. Ever since the footage of Combs assaulting his former partner, Cassie Ventura, was televised, many celebrities removed themselves from his circle, out of fear of being implicated or connected to the alleged crimes.

However, not all of his famous friends and associates were silent. A few famous faces, such as Kanye West, Ray J, and more, have outrightly supported the incarcerated rapper or denied any evidence of the claims for which he was charged. Keep reading to know which A-Listers are on Diddy's side.

Who are Diddy's loyal supporters during his trial?

One of Diddy's most famous supporters is Kanye West. Ye has been vocal about how he believes the Bad Boy Records founder is innocent and that he should be freed. Kanye's support has come through different means. This includes his X posts talking about freeing the rapper and an upcoming track from his latest album, C*ck. The track is titled Diddy Free.

Ye also believed that Cassie Ventura is trying to pressure her ex-partner for money on a deleted tweet. Ventura responded by resharing a post where Playboi Carti told West to "shut up".

Another supporter of Combs is former Bad Boy Records producer Stevie J. He expressed on VladTV's YouTube channel:

"I never knew of an instance where you’ll be guilty before you even go to f**king court... I’m never going to stop being there for someone I consider to be a friend. I’m not going to turn my back. I’ve been scrutinized just by being a friend. I guess someone has never had a true friend before."

Stevie J also mentioned that the claims against his former colleague are "bogus" and will continue to pray for him and his family.

Another A-Lister who is on Team Diddy is Ray J. The Another Day In Paradise singer was a regular guest at Combs' lavish parties. He stated during an interview with News Nation host Chris Cuomo:

"I can guarantee you most of the celebrities that went to Diddy’s parties never even heard of a freak off... In the beginning it sounded really interesting and entertaining, I would say, but when you look back, where were the freak offs? From my knowledge, I’ve never seen a freak off."

Why do people think A-listers are reluctant to support Diddy?

A few experts and critics have voiced out a few possible reasons or explanations as to why Sean's celebrity friends have been quiet regarding the trial.

Former hip-hop DJ at 105.3 KJAMZ in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ramal “The Hometown Heat” Brown said:

"The music industry is fickle. Everyone wants to be around when you’re on top... nobody wanted to be around because it (referring to the footage of Diddy assaulting Ventura in a hotel) could tarnish their image and name... Being around Diddy could get you implicated in the case."

Another L.A. freelance journalist and culture critic, Gerrick Kennedy also expressed:

"People aren’t speaking out because they don’t want any level of implication."

The former website editor for Black Entertainment Television While Madison Gray implied that the celebrities may have distanced themselves because of the charges on which Combs was incarcerated for. In his words:

"Celebrity friends and powerful friends scatter. Nobody wants to be attached... When things are good, the parties are great, the liquor is flowing. But as soon as something goes wrong, friendships are fleeting."

While Sean John Combs may not have the support of the majority of the people he used to party and work with, those who are on his side have been vocal. However, it is not surprising as to why so many A-listers refused to comment on the ongoing trial because of the implications it could have on their personal and professional image.
