KATSEYE’s Megan shared a personal moment with fans during a recent livestream, revealing that she is bisexual.
During her June 6 live broadcast on Weverse, while trying on wigs with fellow member Lara, Megan casually said, “Happy Pride Month,” to which Lara warmly responded. The exchange held deeper significance since Lara had come out as queer earlier this year in March.
Shortly after, Megan added:
"I want to come out. I’m bisexual."
Lara immediately cheered, clapping and jumping in celebration, clearly thrilled by Megan’s confession.

Megan’s announcement was met with widespread support from the group’s devoted fanbase — EYEKONS — during Pride Month, June, a time dedicated to celebrating queer identity and visibility.
Her openness follows Lara's coming out in March who had previously come out as queer, and another fellow member Manon, who has publicly shared photos with her girlfriend on Instagram.
“Absolutely unacceptable”: KATSEYE’s Megan faces backlash after coming out:
While many fans praised the “Gnarly” hitmaker for her honesty, a viral post on the South Korean forum Pann, featuring a clip of her live stream, has sparked controversy.
The post, which has racked up over 100,000 views, read:

“Lara had previously come out as bisexual, and Manon was already known to be part of the LGBTQ+ community after posting photos with her girlfriend on Instagram. Recently, during a live broadcast, Megan also came out, saying she’s bisexual.”
Though the post brought visibility to the members’ statements, the comments section quickly became polarized, and several top-voted replies were branded as “homophobic.”
The conversation on Pann is heating up:

“LGBT legalization and anti-discrimination laws are absolutely unacceptable. The moment they are passed, chaos will ensue, just like in the US,” another one wrote.
“Anyway, 90% of these are just fashion buying and queer baiting, it's one of the marketing strategies.. In foreign countries, among the singers who came out as bi, 90% only date the opposite sex,” a netizen commented on the forum.
“If you're active and debuted in Korea, think about that country's sentiment. Why are you talking about sexual orientation without me asking? Are you here to muddy the waters of idols? Are you bullfrogs or something?” another Pann user stated.
"If you're active and debuted in Korea, think about that country's sentiment. Why are you talking about sexual orientation without me asking? Are you here to muddy the waters of idols? Are you bullfrogs or something? This is so embarrassing. Is [HYBE] letting these guys go? If you're an idol, act like an idol. Haha. Or are you going to go to that country and do pop music or do something ambiguous?" they added.

“I'm really worried that it will become commonplace,” expressed another user.

Some netizens, however, took to the comments to show support or call out others for perceived homophobia.

"KATSEYE is a foreign group anyways but there are a lot of people who don't know how to comment. I can even see homophobia at this point.... If you don't know, just pass by..." one user wrote.
"There are a lot of people in the comments who can't keep up with the times. Other countries are also legalizing same-sex marriage," another added.
"I don't understand it either, but what's wrong with coming out? It's not about harming anyone.. Except for things like transgender people saying they'll use women's bathrooms and harming existing women, homosexuality that loves each other and doesn't harm anyone is okay," one commenter weighed in.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE dropped their latest single “Gnarly” in April, followed by a fresh remix released on Friday, June 6.
