Astronomer Chief Executive Andy Byron is being scrutinized online after he was caught on the kiss cam canoodling with his company’s CPO, Kristin Cabot, at a recent Coldplay concert. However, one of the tech CEO’s namesakes was seemingly caught in the crosshairs of internet blowback.

Another person named Andy Byron founder and senior motion graphics designer for Stylo Motion Design updated his LinkedIn bio after the Coldplay video went viral. It reads:

“NOT THE GUY FROM THE COLDPLAY GIG!! Owner/Creative Director at Stylo Motion Design”

Byron, a Greater Dublin native, also used the controversy as a chance to plug his account. He wrote in a LinkedIn post:

“No, this isn't me. I wouldn't be caught dead at a Coldplay concert... I'm the Andy Byron who makes videos for big screens, not the one who gets caught on them. If you want to make video content that goes viral for the right reasons, let's connect 😂 check Stylo Motion Design”

Andy’s well-timed LinkedIn post got him more than 9,000 reactions, while many loved his humor.

“I always questioned your musical tastes…,” Eoin Loughrey wrote.
“A pretty good use of the moment. Nice one,” Destiny Felinah Odum commented.
“Oh it must be something to Andy Byron (Not the guy from the Coldplay gig!!) HAHAHAHAHAHA,” Angela Gomez added.
“Lights will guide them to your inbox 😂 Brilliant marketing move,” Agneta Jakab claimed.
“Right now, I don't envy your name and sirname 😀😀,” Ketevan Narimanidze said.

After receiving numerous positive reactions, Andy Byron commented under his post to deliver another humorous response:

“📌 My wife is going to be so happy when I tell her that I won LinkedIn for a day. And you know, that I wasn't cheating on her with a co-worker…”

However, unlike the Stylo Motion Design founder, the tech executive has faced severe trolling online.

Astronomer issues statement after fake apology from Andy Byron makes rounds on social media

After the tech CEO and his colleague’s Coldplay video went viral, a statement made its way online. Per the statement, Andy Byron apologizes to his wife, family, and team at Astronomer and concludes with a line from Coldplay’s Fix You:

“As a friend once sang: ‘Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you’”

However, Astronomer confirmed to the New York Post that the statement is fake. The outlet also interviewed a former employee of Byron, who addressed him as a “toxic” boss. The anonymous source told the Post,

“The text groups and chains of former employees are like… everybody’s laughing their a** off and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed”

According to The Sun, the viral video was originally captured by a 28-year-old concertgoer, Grace Springer (@instaagraace on Instagram and TikTok). She told the tabloid,

“I had no idea who the couple was. Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it.”

Springer added that she felt bad for “turning people’s lives upside down,” and added,

“Play stupid games… win stupid prizes.”

Grace shared that she hopes “their partners can heal from this” and have another shot at happiness. For those unaware, Springer uploaded the clip on TikTok on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
