Darryl Dwayne Granberry (DDG) is reflecting on his life experiences amid his legal troubles with his ex-partner, Halle Bailey. In the most recent update, Darryl's filing in response to Bailey's restraining orders was rejected by a Superior Court of California on June 5, 2025. This comes after Halle was granted a temporary restraining order, with Darryl being asked to keep a distance from their son, Halo.

While Darryl didn't respond to the court's decision, he took to his X channel (@PontiacmadeDDG) on June 6 and drew a comparison with Michael Jackson. He wrote,

"Now I now how Michael Jackson felt being famous....sh*t crazy."

Users took to the comment section of the post, with many surprised by his direct comparison to the pop icon. One user (@Nobleprnce) wrote,

"You're not famous bro. You're just known."

Another user (@drugproblem) added a scathing response that he should lower his comparison. They wrote,

"let's aim lower, ur more latoya jackson in terms of fame."

One user (@Jama153286) added sarcastically,

"lmaoo... you up there with him twin."

Another netizen (@mileycyrusvibes) added,

"You are NOT Michael Jackson famous and if it wasn't for Halles drama, we would have forgotten about you."

While a few sympathised with the rapper over his custody battles, most didn't take the comparison well. One user (@heatjon) added,

"Bro just compared himself to the king of pop."

DDG's new post on his X channel drew significant criticism after he compared his fame and experiences with those of Michael Jackson. The post comes after the court reportedly allowed Halle Bailey to travel to Italy with their son, Halo, citing that Darryl's filing didn't "meet the requirements" and doesn't pose an "imminent" risk to their child. According to the BPC, Judge Latrice A.G Byrdsong added,

“The court finds insufficient evidence of imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child during petitioner’s business trip to Italy. Further evidence is required at a noticed hearing for the court to issue more restrictive orders.”

The decision on the restraining order will be reviewed at the next custody hearing scheduled on June 24, 2025. According to a declaration obtained by Billboard, Halle Bailey has reportedly responded to Darryl's allegations about her capacity to take care of their child.

Halle has described DDG's allegations as "exaggerated" and "misconstrued for the court." She noted that she has previously spoken about her mental health conditions, including "anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide." She added,

“Without waiving the psychotherapist-patient privilege and physician-patient privilege, I have reached out to my doctor and received treatment to address these issues. I have been and remain 100% available and capable as a parent to our son, Halo.”

DDG has actively taken to social media to address his public feud and custody battle with the Little Mermaid actress. However, the internet community could not help but disagree with Michael Jackson's fame. Fans urged DDG to clarify the context before making similar comparisons.
