How did Absentia end? Revisiting the end of the hit series
The finale of Absentia Season 3 ties together all the mysteries in the chapter. The episode centers on Emily, Nick, and Cal as they close in on the truth behind a Meridian operation.
As the investigation begins, the crimes committed in refugee camps are exposed. And it's also revealed that the Border Outreach was also a part of the same criminal network, something not many expected.
At first, everyone thinks Webb is the traitor inside the agency, but Crowne realizes that the clues pointing to him are too obvious. Soon, Emily and Crowne uncover the real truth: Julianne Gunnarsen is the mole.
Julianne also confesses that she killed Alice in Season 2 so their secrets wouldn’t come out. Once caught, Julianne is sent to prison. The most emotional part of Season 3 comes as Emily wants to protect Nick and Flynn.
She knows Meridian won’t stop hunting them, so she creates a fake house explosion to make it look like Nick and Flynn died. At the same time, it also means that Emily has to stay away from them, but Nick and Flynn could run away.
Six months later, Emily is working in a cafe, but she's also secretly working on a mission. Soon, Cal finds her, and it seems that they have a future together.
