Acapulco Season 4 Episode 3 recap: Paloma asks Maximo to inspire Gustavo

In Episode 3 of Acapulco Season 4, Maximo learns about Gustavo struggling with creative block. He resorts to doing numerous strange things to get inspired, but to no avail.

Paloma then informs Maximo that Gustavo has secured the deal to paint a mural on the wall of Las Colinas, but he has not begun working on it due to a lack of ideas. She asks him to share a story that could inspire Gustavo to start and complete the task at hand.

Maximo then shares another of his tales from the past. This time, we are taken back to 1986, a time of protest, when the staff of Las Colinas left Vera’s birthday party after discovering that Vera had cut employee benefits. Due to the staff's absence, Vera had to oversee the resort and care for guests on his own, which did not go very well. His troubles increase when Diane visits the resort, telling him she is there just for a vacation.

Meanwhile, for better working conditions, the staff of Las Colinas began protesting in the scorching summer heat, even when they had no energy to stand.

However, it becomes more troubling when Vera hires a replacement for the staff. Maximo thinks he has failed all the employees and that they might have lost the fight. However, a little nudge from Memo and words of inspiration get him back to his feet, and they both go to meet Vera.

They both tell Vera that the staff is what makes the resort better, as they work like a family, and no one can replace that feeling of belonging. Their appeal moves Veras. Aside from agreeing to all their demands, he also shares how the resort had suffered from the staff’s absence.

The story of this victory not only inspires Sara in the past to apply to NYU but also in the present, as Gustavo begins working on his mural after he decides what to paint.
