Wednesday Season 2 has reignited the dark vibe of Nevermore Academy, but it's the arrival of one student who has everyone buzzing and suspicious. Agnes DeMille, played by Evie Templeton, may be only 13 years of age, but she's already signalling a shift in the dynamics of the show.
Sure, her odd behavior is captivating, but it's her striking hair that has fans buzzing. Is that hair a subtle indication that Agnes may have something more sinister going on? Her braids are quite similar to the series' gothic Queen, after all, Agnes is the "superfan".
It's a visual connection to Wednesday herself, highlighting obsession, rivalry, and possible malevolence. With the fairy-like power to vanish and unpredictable behavior, Agnes' braids may indicate that Agnes might be Season 2's biggest villain.
And if that's true, how much of a threat could an innocent hairstyle really be?
Agnes' look in Wednesday Season 2 seems more than a style
Netflix's Wednesday is one of the TV series that has some of the best villains, and fans are eagerly anticipating who might be the biggest bad guy or lady in this new chapter. As mentioned above, Agnes DeMille, who happens to be a Vanisher, is an incredibly mysterious character.
From her hairstyle to her words, it's evident that Agnes has studied Wednesday really well and even mimics her hairstyle. Not only this, she's a redhead, and when I say redhead, most fans will remember Marilyn Thornhill, aka Laurel Gates.
My theory is that she might be the daughter of Marilyn Thornhill, the teacher who secretly worked against Wednesday in Season 1. If that’s true, Agnes would have a deeply personal reason to hate Wednesday.
She might be planning to get even by taking someone’s life, and Enid could be the target. Agnes is well aware of how much Wednesday cares for her roommate, and hurting Enid would be the ultimate way to leave Wednesday with pain and trauma that would never truly fade.
Agnes might be the one who wants to kill Enid in Wednesday Season 2
My next theory about Agnes DeMille in Wednesday Season 2 is that she might want to kill Enid. But why? There can be two reasons. First, if Agnes is really obsessed with Wednesday, she might see Enid as a potential threat.
She would want to stay as close as possible to Wednesday, and becoming her roommate would be the best. At the same time, Agnes doesn't seem to like Enid. She even called her out while the Outcasts set off for their camping at Jericho.
In Wednesday Season 2 Part 1, Episode 3 "Call of the Woe", Agnes is present inside Enid's dorm when Wednesday mentions that she won't let her die. Agnes' expression is notable, as if she didn't like the idea of saving Enid.
And a few minutes later, Agen even says to Wednesday:
"The more you pushe me away, the more I'll want to please you."
It sounded like there's no way Agnes is putting an end to her obsession. But is it an obsession? The second reason Agnes might want to end Enid’s life is if she truly is a villain, especially if it turns out she’s connected to Marilyn in any way. Such a link would give her an even stronger motive for revenge.
She knew that if Wednesday failed to save Enid and Bruno during the prank, they would die under those knives. It explains how dangerous and intriguing Angnes DeMille is in Wednesday Season 2.
