Big Mistakes: Dan Levy’s Netflix series reveals full cast with the addition of 8 actors

Dan Levy’s upcoming Netflix series, Big Mistakes, has added eight new cast members to its ensemble. The comedy show was reported to be in development a few months ago, and Netflix has now confirmed its official title as the filming began in New Jersey recently.

The show stars Dan along with Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf. Dan and Taylor play two siblings who have been described as ‘incapable.’ However, their lives change when they are blackmailed into joining the criminal world.

Metcalf is all set to play the duo’s mother. The new cast members who have been announced to join Big Mistakes include Boran Kuzum, Joe Barbara, and Jack Innanen. Here are all the updates we have about the cast of the upcoming series.

Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes adds 8 new cast members

Dan Levy, Taylor Ortega, and Laurie Metcalf were initially announced as the lead trio of Big Mistakes. As per a recent announcement by Netflix, the comedy series will feature three more series regulars: Boran Kuzum, Jack Innanen, and Abby Quinn.

Boran, known for his roles in Doom of Love and Thank You, Next, is set to play Yusuf. Abby Quinn, recognized for her roles in Radium Girls and Hell of a Summer, will star as Natalie. Jack Innanen, who was recently seen in FX’s Adults, will play Max.

Meanwhile, the series will also feature five recurring cast members. Just in Time actor Joe Barbara will portray Mike, Emilia Pérez actor Mark Ivanir will appear as Ivan, Another Simple Favor actress Elizabeth Perkins will play Annette, Better Call Saul fame Josh Fadem will portray Ashley, and Dear Edward actor Jacob Gutierrez will star as Tare.

Apart from starring in the series, Dan Levy will serve as its creator, executive producer, and showrunner. He is known for co-creating and starring in CBC’s hit sitcom Schitt’s Creek. Dan’s production house, Not a Real Production Company, has signed a deal with Netflix to create original content, and Big Mistakes marks their first collaboration on a television series.

Along with Dan, comedian and actress Rachel Sennott serves as the co-creator and executive producer on the project. Anne-Marie McGintee, the head of Film and TV at Not a Real Production Company, also serves as an executive producer. Dan has described the show as a ‘chaotic family story’. He said in his official statement to Netflix’s Tudum:

“I’m so excited to be bringing this truly chaotic family story to life with Netflix. I’m thrilled with the team we’re building, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Taylor Ortega is going to become a household name, and it’s been my life’s mission to get to call Laurie Metcalf ‘mother.’ Looking forward to getting to share this with everyone.”
