Apple TV+’s Pluribus is one of the most-awaited shows of the year, the credit for which goes to creator Vince Gilligan’s track record. He is the mind behind iconic shows like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Gilligan is teaming up with Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn once again for the sci-fi drama. Bob Odenkirk, who collaborated with the two earlier and played the titular role in the AMC show, has now hyped up Pluribus.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Odenkirk compared the upcoming series to Game of Thrones and stated that it has the potential to become the next big thing on television after Severance.
Bob Odenkirk says Pluribus will be the next big show on television
During the interview, Bob Odenkirk was asked if Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn had shared any details with him about their upcoming show Pluribus. The actor said that while he is not aware of any details, he knows that the show is going to be a massive success, joining the likes of cult classics like Game of Thrones and Severance. Odenkirk said:
“I don’t know a damn thing. But I know it’s going to be massive. Massive! It’s going to be the biggest thing, well, since sliced bread, but really since Game of Thrones.”
He added:
“You probably know what’s biggest [lately], but probably since Severance. I know Severance, in its way, is a big, big effort. So I think that [Pluribus] is going to be the next big show, and I can’t wait.”
Rhea Seehorn is going to play the lead role of Carol in the series, which revolves around a miserable person who is tasked with saving the world from happiness. Like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, this show is also set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but has a starkly different theme and tone.
Other cast members who are confirmed to appear in the series include Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga, Miriam Shor, and Samba Schutte. The show is going to premiere on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025, and is expected to feature nine episodes in the first season.
Gilligan previously talked about the project in an interview with Deadline in February 2025 and revealed that Seehorn’s character will be a damaged hero who will desperately try to be good. He said:
“I’m excited for audiences to see Rhea play a very different character than the character she played on Better Call Saul. he plays someone who’s trying very hard to be good. She’s a bit of a damaged hero, but she’s a hero nonetheless. And it’s just a pleasure to work with her because she’s just the best, and she is so sweet and kind and talented. I can’t say enough good about her.”
Odenkirk, Gilligan, and Seehorn worked together on Better Call Saul, which aired six seasons on AMC between 2015 and 2022. The show, a prequel to Breaking Bad, earned critical acclaim and the audience’s praise, much like the original series.
Pluribus will debut on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025.
