Bon Appétit, Your Majesty isn’t your typical time-slip drama; it combines palace intrigue with the comforting warmth of cooking. Chef Yeon Ji-young, originally from 2025, accidentally slips into the Joseon era, and now, the King refuses to let her go because of her cooking talent.

He initially thought Ji-young was an evil witch, but he has now realized that she is also a human. Amusingly, King Lee-heon thinks Ji-young has gone mad, since she insists she’s from the future.

Ji-young is now the chief royal cook of the palace and has to serve special dishes to the King. However, she longs to return to her own world, something only possible through her Mangunrok book.

However, things take an unexpected turn in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 4 when King Lee-heon starts writing his book with Ji-young's recipes. After completing the recipe, he names it "Mangunrok", the same title as Ji-young's cookbook.

This way, the original book vanishes from Ji-young's bag as two similar books cannot exist at the same time. So does that mean YeonJi-young is stuck in the Joseon era forever?

Let's find out the possibilities!

How Ji-young's Mangunrok book vanished in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 4

Since the premiere, fans have not stopped talking about the chemistry between Yoona and Lee Chae-min in their latest K-drama, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, on tvN and Netflix for a global audience. It goes beyond a typical love story and begins with the main characters almost hating each other.

However, the hate is fading gradually as King Lee-heon is delighted by every dish Ji-young makes and even mentions them all in his book. In Episode 4, Lee-heon is seen noting down the Spinach noodles recipe in his book, and that's when he decides to give the book a title.

King Lee-heon recalls Ji-young mentioning the title Mangunrok for her missing book, and decides to give his own cookbook the very same name. This is when Ji-young's book vanishes from her handbag in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

Her only hope of returning to the 2025 timeline was the book, but now it has vanished. Ji-young made a deal with Im Song-jae that he would find the handbag with all the belongings inside it, but even if they find it now, Ji-young won't get the book.

After watching the fourth episode of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, fans must be left with one burning question: "How will Ji-young get back to her timeline?". Well, the K-drama hasn't revealed the answer yet, but she will likely use King Lee-heon's book.

With her own book gone, King Lee-heon’s Mangunrok becomes the new ‘original.’ If Ji-young records the same words in it, she might find a way home. The drama has a total of twelve episodes, and there's a lot to happen between the two.

Fans also speculate that if Ji-young does return to her timeline, King Lee-heon might be reincarnated for her. In Park Guk-jae’s web novel Surviving as Yeonsangun’s Chef, the two characters eventually fall in love, and their romance comes to a fulfilling close.
