Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 6 recap: Ji-young cries for her Mangunrok novel

Titled "Course N° 6 Black Sesame Macaron," Episode 6 of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty opens with Lee-heon and Ji-young having a dramatic tumble in the palace greenhouse. The King accuses Ji-young of the fall, but she mentions that it's not that serious.
She's excited to return and tells the King that she will go back using the book inside. When Ji-young puts her hand inside the bag, she becomes terrified: Mangunrok is missing. This means that her only hope of returning to 2025 might soon fade if she doesn't get the novel back.
This is because Ji-youn doesn't know that King Lee-heon is the actual author of the book, and the previous one vanished right after Lee-heon began to write his own while Ji-young was around him.
The King tries to comfort her, promising to get it back after the Ming envoys leave, but it does little to console her. In the meantime, other cooks in the royal kitchen were enjoying liquor when Ji-young arrived.
She also joined the cooks and found out that Ji-yuong can't handle alcohol well. She loses control, sings and dances for her Mangunrok to return, making the moment engaging and fun to watch.
Her lighthearted evening in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 6 quickly gives way to pressure when news spreads that Yu Kun, head of the Ming delegation, refuses to eat Joseon’s food. Things worsen when it’s revealed that Yu Kun travels with three master chefs who have already defeated other kingdoms’ cooks.
This hurts Joseon's pride, and Ji-young, along with her cooks decides to give these chefs a taste of their food. While they're a bit anxious, Ji-young ensures to motivate them enough.

King Lee-heon meets Yu Kun from the Ming envoys and realizes that he's just greedy and wants the best things from Joseon without giving any benefit to the nation. While Lee-heon was pissed by the envoy, and maintained his calm.
In the royal kitchen, Ji-young makes butter and everyone is delighted to taste it. Since the Ming envoys have been insulting other cooks, Ji-young prepares fresh and colorful macarons, which left Yu Kun and his cooks speechless.
While Yu Kun accepts that the taste is incredible, he challenges the cooks of Joseon to battle with the chefs he brought. This is a part of Prince Je-san's evil plan to dethrone the King and take his position.
The King agrees to a culinary showdown as he believes in Ji-young. He also demands things that will benefit Joseon if his cooks win. Or else, Joseon will lose a large amount of Ginseng and other items.
King Lee-heon and Ji-young disguise themselves to visit the market together in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty
Ji-young plots her counterstrategy: use bold chilli powder in the competition. She and Lee-heon disguise themselves as commoners and head into the market to have the chillies ground.
The King feels good while spending time with Ji-young and even buys the Mangunrok keychain that was once on the original book. He sees Ji-young feeling happy in the market, and she even brings flowers for him.
However, while trying to save Ji-young from falling in the mud, her flowers fell down. In a playful moment, Ji-young and the King splash mud on each other's faces.
Later, Lee-heon gives the charm to Ji-young, and she feels special after receiving it. Back at the palace, the Ming chefs start displaying their dominance. Ya Feixiu beats the cooks of Joseon in the warm-up competition, which has left the kitchen staff demoralized.
Ji-young says that she won't let her team down and uses an upbeat message and inspirational words to boost their spirits for the unique challenge ahead. The next competition in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Episode 6 consists of three rounds, and Lee-heon wants his cooks to win them all.
So, if Ming wins, Joseon will have to give all the Ginseng and a hundred women. Whereas if Joseon cooks become winners, Ming will have to give them as much flour as they want and sugar canes. With just five days to prepare, it's going to be a tough culinary battle in the next episode of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.
