The Price of Confession premiered on December 5, 2025, on Netflix and quickly became one of the most talked-about thriller K-dramas. Starring Jeon Do-yeon and Goblin's Kim Go-eun, the thriller K-drama depicts a story of two women, one of whom was a killer and the other falsely accused. While Do-yeon's Yoon-soo was trying to prove her innocence, Go-eun's mysterious character, Mo-eun, was revealed to be a psychopathic killer from the moment she was introduced in the K-drama.However, her story made the viewers sympathetic to her, which resulted in a shocked reaction from the viewers as she was killed at the end. But the actress revealed that whatever happened to Mo-eun was because of the crimes she committed. She committed the murders because her family did not receive justice from the court. There she meets Mo-eun, known as the Witch. She is described as a psychopathic killer who does not show any emotions. She makes a deal with Yoon-soo that she will confess to killing her husband and get her out of jail, but she has to do something for her, which is to kill someone.At the beginning of The Price of Confession, she is shown as a mysterious and terrifying character. However, as the series progresses, we get to know her tragic story. It is revealed that Mo-eun's younger sister was assaulted by a boy, but the court does not provide justice to the family, and in the aftermath, the boy and his family go on to live a good life while Mo-eun loses everyone.She kills his parents to take revenge and is sent to jail, where she tasks Yoon-soo to kill the boy. While she is a murderer, the revelation of her past made her character humane rather than psychopathic. At the end, her decision to help Yoon-soo against the real killer of her husband also made her a beloved character. But, unlike Yoon-soo, who gets to go back to her daughter safe, Mo-eun is killed while protecting the former.The Price of Confession star spoke to My Drama List about Mo-eun's fate at the end of the Netflix K-drama and also talked about how, by showing the stories of both women, the series tried to depict how sometimes justice fails, and characters like Mo-eun end up breaking laws. But this does not mean that they won't pay for their crimes. According to her, Mo-eun's death was her fate after she committed heinous crimes, irrespective of the intent behind it.To add to her previous comment, she said:"People might say that such a crime deserves death, but it's not as if we're asking to forgive committing murder.
