Dexter: Resurrection Episode 7, "Course Correction," tightens the screws left loose on Dexter Morgan like you've never seen before. Angel Batista is now closer than ever, and his latest move puts Dexter in an impossible position with no wiggle room. Angel Batista is not letting go. This isn’t just a chase anymore; it’s a dangerous dance where both men know only one will walk away unscathed.
The episode builds on a tense play of grudges that are old, dangers that are new, and unexpected confrontations. By the end of the episode, though, Batista's strategy shifts from merely observation to now taking action and Dexter? Dexter may finally be running out of room to hide.
Episode 7 of Dexter: Resurrection has Batista stepping into dangerous territory
Angel Batista has always been the kind of detective who refuses to look away from a puzzle, no matter how dangerous it gets. In Episode 7 of Dexter: Resurrection, his instincts sharpen even more and his presence around Dexter feels less like casual inquiry and more like a predator waiting for the right moment to strike.
Now, while Dexter is away on one of Leon Prater's unsettling "retreats," Batista moves further and closer to the truth, coming into Dexter's home and even sharing a suspiciously friendly salsa session with Blessing.
The meet ends with a tense car ride where Dexter warns him to walk away. Batista doesn't flinch. In fact, he leaves behind a tracker in Dexter's vehicle, ensuring that from now on, he'll have eyes on every move his old colleague makes. This isn't just investigation; now it's provocation.
Both men understand that whoever makes the next wrong step could end up paying with their life. For Batista, the risk is worth it. For Dexter, the message is clear: the hunter is no longer entirely in control of the hunt.
Dexter’s calculated performance in Dexter: Resurrection at Prater’s castle: A retreat filled with killers
While Batista plots on the outside, with Dexter: Resurrection, Dexter is caught in Leon Prater's twisted world. Flown to a secluded castle after the events of Episode 6, he's placed and thrown into another round of "show and tell" among serial killers.
This time, the spotlight is on a killer named Al, whose recorded murder of a jogger repulses Dexter enough to quietly decide that every killer in this room needs to go.
Prater wants vulnerability, and Dexter gives it but not as his assumed identity "Red," but as himself, speaking of masks, the Dark Passenger, and the weight of pretending to be normal. Prater reacts unexpectedly, sharing his own disturbing origin story involving the man who killed his parents.
But Dexter's real focus is Gareth, one half of the Gemini Killers. With careful manipulation, Dexter provokes Gareth into attacking him, then turns the tables, killing him in a way that convinces the others it was self-defense. He even manages to frame Gareth for another murder, subtly removing two threats in one strike.
Charley, however, is not entirely convinced, and that cloud of doubt could matter later.
A near-miss at the college and Batista’s bold move in Dexter: Resurrection Episode 7
Back in New York, Dexter races from the castle to join Harrison at a criminology college tour...but he's late. Harrison has already met a new acquaintance, Gigi, and is in the lecture hall when Detective Claudette Wallace begins her talk on the New York Ripper.
Dexter's arrival catches her attention immediately. The exchange afterward is polite on the surface but loaded underneath. Claudette has spoken to Batista, and she knows Dexter's history at Miami Metro.
If that weren't enough, the day ends with the kind of move that makes Batista's pursuit feel even more dangerous. In their tense car ride, Dexter tries to intimidate him with the line,
"If I really am who you think I am, this can't possibly end well for you."
Batista still refuses to back down. By leaving the tracker behind, he signals that the chase in Dexter: Resurrection is now him entering a new phase, one where he's not just following Dexter, but he is actively cornering and torturing him.
Episode 7 of Dexter: Resurrection shifts the cat-and-mouse dynamic into something that is far riskier. Batista is no longer chasing just dark lines in the shadow; he's now fully aware and is walking straight into the lion's den, knowing very well what might be waiting for him.
Dexter, for all his skill, has rarely been hunted this closely. With every step taken by Batista, the stakes increase higher, and the road toward their inevitable clash gets shorter with every Dexter: Resurrection episode.
