"Trojan", the Gen V Season 2 finale, was released on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The second season wraps up all the storylines that were planted right in the first episode of this season. Moreover, the season 2 finale sets up not one but two shows in The Boys Universe. One of the expected exciting things that fans were expecting from the season 2 finale was the post-credit scene.

However, fans were surprised to find out that the season 2 finale did not have a post-credit scene. Instead of a Gen V Season 2 Episode 8 post-credit scene, we get a setup for The Boys Season 5 in the closing minutes.

Is there a post-credit scene in the Gen V Season 2 finale?

No, the Gen V Season 2 finale did not have a post-credit scene. This is unlike the Gen V Season 1 finale, which saw The Boys' Billy Butcher walk into The Woods and procure the virus that Indira Shetty created to kill the supes. This Gen V Season 1 finale post-credit scene served as a setup for The Boys Season 4. But that does not mean that the last episode of Gen V's second season was standalone.

The closing minutes of the Gen V Season 2 finale see Starlight and, more importantly, A-Train inviting Marie, Sam, Cate, Emma, Annabeth, and Jordan to the resistance. This alliance means that we can get to see the Gen V gang in The Boys Season 5, but the length of their role is unknown for now. It should also be noted that Marie and the gang joining the resistance is a major boost for the morale of the rebels.

Season 2 of Gen V confirms that Marie and Homelander share the same source of origin:

One of the surprising things about the second season is how early we learn about Project Odessa. We learn right in the second episode that Marie is Odessa. The sixth episode further explains what it means. Stan Edgar tells Marie that a lot of children were injected with Compound V as a part of Project Odessa, but only two survived it, Homelander and Marie, almost a decade later.

This is probably why Marie was able to withstand Homelander's heat vision in the Gen V Season 1 finale. It seems that the two might be even stronger than the day-to-day supes in Godolkin University. Marie may even have an upper hand on Homelander, as her powers allow her to control the flow of blood on anyone's body. Theoretically, she might even be able to separate Compound V from Homelander's blood, probably making him a mere mortal.

While the resistance may have gained a powerful ally in the form of Marie in the Gen V Season 2, they have another threat in The Boys Season 5. It was confirmed at the July 2024 San Diego Comic-Con that Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy would be returning in The Boys Season 5 as an ally to Homelander, who is also his son. Thus, it remains to be seen how things will play out as the fifth season streams in 2026.

"School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."

Gen V Season 2 is available in its entirety on Prime Video. Catch the entire season 2, and the rest of the shows are available on the same streaming platform. Catch them all before the final and fifth season of The Boys streams there.
