Peacemaker Season 2 is three episodes in, and it is heavily dealing with alternate dimensions. One of the most interesting mysterious backgrounds is the Kyphotic Alien, who appears in the intro sequence and in the first two episodes of the series. While the alien did not appear in the third episode, a Redditor has a wild theory regarding the mysterious character's identity.
According to the theory, the Kyphotic Alien is a variant of Christopher or one of his friends. Another Redditor had another wild theory regarding the alien's "rudeness" towards Christopher in the Peacemaker Season 2 premiere. Some also believe that the alien might play a key role in Chris's capture. But it has not been confirmed if the alien is a variant or not.
Peacemaker Season 2's Kyphotic Alien explained:
We have seen the Kyphotic Alien twice in this season. Behind the scenes, stuntman Dorian Kingi plays the role of the alien in a physical suit. The alien has a combined screentime of under five minutes in the first two episodes of Peacemaker Season 2. But in both of these appearances, the alien has made an impression on the viewers.
While one theory suggested that the alien is a variant of one of the main characters, the other suggested that the alien doesn't greet back at the DCU Chris because they met his alternate dimension counterpart, and he wasn't a pleasant man.
The key role for the alien that another Redditor suggested is that they tip off both Rick Flag's A.R.G.U.S. team and the alternate dimension Auggie and Keith Smith. Considering one of the trailers showed the A.R.G.U.S. team investigating the QUC, many believe that the Kyphotic Alien will point the A.R.G.U.S. team toward Chris, leading to his capture.
If you remember that Lex Luthor split Metropolis into two in the final act of Superman, and thus, the DCU A.R.G.U.S. monitors quantum technology. Rick Flag Sr., who is the new director of A.R.G.U.S., hopes to use Chris's usage of the QUC as an excuse to throw him back to prison for killing his son, Rick Flag Jr. James Gunn teased the role of the QUC in a May 2025 Entertainment Weekly interview:
"You've seen what we call the QUC, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, in the first season of Peacemaker, and we see more about that technology in Superman. The QUC is the center of the story in Peacemaker season 2... We see a lot of different characters from Superman in the [season], [including] Isabela and Nathan and Sean, and then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman. There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show."
Fans also believe that the alternate dimension is oppressive:
Episode 3 of Peacemaker Season 2, Another Rick Up My Sleeve, provided the best glimpse of the alternate dimension. Fans have formulated a wild theory ever since the last episode streamed on Thursday, September 4, 2025. According to them, the alternate dimension seen in Peacemaker Season 2 is Earth X. In the DC lore, Earth X is the evil parallel Earth in which Fascists won.
The reason why the Smith family of this reality is as wealthy as they are is because they are deputized forces of the authoritarian government. This theory may feel far-fetched, but it should be noted that fans scoured through all the scenes of the background extras in the alternate dimension and realized that most of them are white.
Fans point to James Gunn's comments to Brandon Davis last month at the red carpet premiere. Hinting at major twists in the sixth, seventh, and eighth episodes, he revealed the reason behind keeping those three episodes a secret:
"It could mean they're terrible. That is one option. Or it could mean that there's a lot of major twists and turns in the last three episodes. And even though I'm sending the first five to a select few, things still get out as you know. Things got out already. You know, people who want to search can be spoiled on purpose, but I really don't want what's in those last three episodes to be spoiled. And so I'm keeping them close to the chest. I won't even let my publicist see them. That's the god's honest truth"
