The closing minutes of the fifth episode of Gen V Season 2 are a game-changer in the entire The Boys Universe, as it adapts the common comic book trope. It exactly answers why Vought is so invested in Marie and her hemokinetic (blood manipulation) abilities. Turns out, Marie can do more than control blood and heal wounds.
In addition to blood-bending and healing powers, Marie can also undo death caused by wounds resulting in blood loss. This could be a game-changer, as we already know that Gen V Season 2 will set up the events of The Boys Season 5, which is also its final season. Thus, if the ending minutes of this episode are to be believed, we can expect where Marie might go in the final season of The Boys.

Marie undoes a death in Gen V Season 2 Episode 5:
Gen V Season 2, Episode 5, "The Kids Are Not All Right," is essentially a prison escape story. The opening scene of the episode takes place a month before the events of the season 2 premiere, where we see Cipher taking care of the mysterious burnt man. Then, we learn that Cipher and Sister Sage have a long-term plan and proceed to get intimate in front of the old man.
Then, the scene shifts to Marie and Jordan's conversation in the locker room after their cage match in the previous episode. Cipher interrupts their conversation and also tells them that Cate has been imprisoned in Elmira, the same place where Emma, Marie, Jordan, and the now deceased Andre were imprisoned in the season 1 finale.
Marie comes up with an idea to break Cate out of Elmira out of empathy, and she even convinces Jordan and Emma to help her. However, this turns out to be a trap as Cipher has the three imprisoned in the detainment center. He is particularly interested in mentoring Marie for mysterious reasons and wants her to be his pupil.
The most shocking moment is in the latter half of this Gen V Season 2 episode, where Cipher takes Marie to another cell that has an older Annabeth Moreau. Cipher blackmails Marie into working with him in exchange for Annabeth's freedom and safety before throwing the hemokinetic protagonist back to her cell. But soon Cate manages to escape her confinement and frees Emma, Jordan, and Marie.
Marie tells the other to escape and tries to go and free Annabeth, but the other join her. However, the four are shocked to see Annabeth dead in her cell with a throat cut. Refusing to accept her death, Marie takes a risk and uses her powers, which cause her, Emma, Jordan, and Cate's noses to bleed, but ultimately manages to heal the cut and resurrect Annabeth.
The ending of this Gen V Season 2 episode means that Marie could undo the deaths from stabbing and possibly even shooting.
The ability to undo death could be handy in The Boys Season 5:
It has been known for a while that the Gen V Season 2 finale would set up The Boys Season 5, which releases next year. Therefore, many believe that Marie and possibly even Emma, Jordan, and Cate might join Starlight and The Boys' side in the final season. Thus, fan theories circulating across the internet believe that the next three episodes are building up to Marie leaving Godolkin University for good and joining Starlight.
"School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
