Ghosts Season 5: Sheila Carrasco teases a hilarious premiere as the gang tries to save Jay’s soul

Ghosts Season 5 is just 24 hours away from its release date. As the fifth season is approaching its release, the marketing for the upcoming season is in full swing, as the cast and crew of the series are promoting the show through various interviews to countless interviews. One of these many interviews is that of actress Sheila Carrasco, who plays Susan "Flower" Montero in the CBS series.

In the popular sitcom, Flower is the ghost of a free-spirited woman who died in 1969. Now, Sheila Carrasco sat down for an interview with DECIDER in which she provided some teases for the Ghosts Season 5 premiere.

What did Sheila Carrasco say about the Ghosts Season 5 premiere?

The actress confirms that the first episode of Ghosts Season 5 will address the fallout of the Ghosts Season 4 finale. For the uninitiated, the season 4 finale saw Elias tricking Jay into making a deal with him under the guise of someone named "Brett McAfee". Unbeknownst to him, Jay would be doomed to hell after his passing. Thus, Jay is understandably stressed in the season 5 premiere.

This deal has both Jay and the ghosts worried for the former's fate as season 5 airs its first episode. Teasing the humor from the Ghosts Season 5 premiere, Sheila Carrasco said this to the DECIDER reporter:

“I think we’re all very concerned about Jay, the whole house, and we all really come together to try to save him. We get a lot of comedy from that.”

Sheila Carrasco further revealed that the best moments of Ghosts Season 5 are those of Jay, Ambudkar’s character, living in a state of constant fear. She teases that these moments will lead to charming dynamics between characters. Teasing a showdown between Patience and Elias, the actress went on to say:

“My favorite episodes are where the whole cast is together. And we definitely see Elias come back and we see Patience, they get to finally have a bit of a showdown. I can’t say too much more, but it’s going to get pretty scary.”

Carrasco teases a different flower for season 5:

The actress also hinted at some interesting things for her character in the upcoming season. Until now, we have seen Flower as a free-spirited young ghost who was mauled by a bear. But she teased that a totally different side of her character will be explored in the fifth season:

“I am most excited for the fans to see more of the smarter side of Flower. That was a really fun thing to start exploring last year in Season 4. I think it’s going to be really fun.”

She was not the only one, though, as even Utkarsh Ambudkar teased something similar in a Collider interview this week:

"I think we see something from Flower this season where you get to actually meet Susan Montero, law student. And to watch Sheila Carrasco, who I've got no problem saying is my favorite ghost, she for sure is doing something you've never seen her do. She's exceptional. You get to see a lucid Flower, and it is awesome."

Thus, we can expect to learn more about Susan in the upcoming season as it begins airing on CBS on October 16, 2025, at 08:30 PM ET.
