Head Over Heels is the K-drama that sneaks up on you. One episode in, and you're totally invested in the story. Featuring Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo in the leading roles, the show is about a young shaman and an ill-fated boy, destined to cross paths.
Yi-hun, whom fans loved as Nam-ra in All of Us Are Dead, is the adorable shaman or Heaven and Earth Fairy Cheonji, Park Seong-ah. While her co-star from School 2021, Young-woo, plays Bae Gyeon-u. The story begins with Gyeon-u walking into Seong-ah shrine, only to appear upside down, with a curse to die in 21 days.
Since the premiere, eight episodes have come out, with the K-drama nearing its finale. Head Over Heels Episode 9 will be released on Monday, July 21, 2025, followed by Episode 10 the very next day.
So far, Seong-ah managed to save Gyeon-u, but on the last day of the curse, he stepped on a cursed doll, which allowed an evil spirit inside his body. Now, Gyeon-u struggles as he keeps switching between himself and the evil spirit, Bong-su.

Head Over Heels Episode 9: Everything to know
Head Over Heels Episode 9 is set to come out on Monday, July 21, 2025. In South Korea, it will be broadcast on the TV network tvN at 8:50 PM KST. Since two episodes are released a week, Episode 10 will follow on July 22, with the same release time.
If you're watching from outside Korea, the release time will vary depending on your location. Local fans can tune in to Seong-ah's mission to save her first love, live on tvN, or stream on the local platform TVING.
It will be available around 4 PM GMT or 12 PM ET for global viewers on Amazon Prime Video. While the audio isn't available in many languages, the platform offers English subtitles, making it easy for all to enjoy the K-drama.

What happened in Head Over Heels Episode 8: A quick recap
Episode 8 opens with Yeom-hwa's curse cleaning rite and a flashback that reveals the painful past between General Dongcheon and her. Yeom-hwa once tried to bring her dead baby back to life, but Dongcheon, who is also her spirit mother, stopped her.
In the present, Dongcheon warns Yeom-hwa that holding on to the past will only bring suffering and unrest to her child’s spirit. Still, Yeom-hwa refuses to let go and continues her search, drawing dangerous supernatural attention.
Yeom-hwa later admits to Flower Master that she intentionally provoked Dongcheon, knowing full well that an evil presence is nearby. At the same time, a love triangle starts to brew. Seong-ah expresses her feelings for Gyeon-woo, just as Ji-ho confesses to liking her too.
The three agree to sort out their emotions once Gyeon-woo is safe. But things get eerie when Gyeon-woo, possessed by Bong-su, wakes during the Hour of the Ox and warns Seong-ah never to sleep during that cursed time.
Tensions rise when Yeom-hwa confronts General Dongcheon, only for Great Aunt to show up and accuse Dongcheon of causing chaos. A chaotic showdown follows, with Bong-su (in Gyeon-woo’s body) nearly attacking the elder shaman before Seong-ah stops him.
He later plots something mysterious with Seong-ah, and we learn that the ringtone on his phone: gunfire sounds that unexpectedly torment Bong-su. As things settle down, Seong-ah and Gyeon-woo grow closer and vow to protect each other like living talismans.
But Yeom-hwa isn’t done. She casts a spell to bind herself even more strongly to Bong-su, just as Gyeon-woo starts feeling strange during an important contest. The episode ends with a spooky twist: he now has the ability to see ghosts, hinting that even more supernatural chaos is on the way.
What to expect from Head Over Heels Episode 9?
In Episode 9 of Head Over Heels, Yeom-hwa will use her merged energy with Bong-su as her unifying spell worked. Bong-su can be heard telling Gyeon-u that he's with Seong-ah now.
Yet, the young shaman won't give up on her first love and will keep Gyeon-u by her side. As seen in the preview, Seong-ah tells Gyeon-u that if staying apart keeps him safe, then she will happily do it.
However, Gyeon-u wants to stay with her. Flower Master will help Gyeon-u fight the evil spirit inside him. He also tells him that it's going to be painful, to which Gyeon-u asks, "Will I die?"
At the same time, Yeo-hwa is seen accusing General Dongcheon of having something big from her. Is it about Seong-ah? Or about Yeom-hwa's baby? What is she accusing her of?
