The Korean drama Head Over Heels has been quietly turning into a fan favorite, holding its ground in ratings despite heavy competition. Since it first aired, the show has climbed to the top of viewership charts in South Korea, thanks to its fresh storyline and talented cast.

What’s more impressive is how it keeps leading its time slot week after week, a clear sign that audiences are hooked and keep coming back for more. In recent episodes, especially Head Over Heels Episode 6, the stakes have been raised significantly.

Bae Gyeon-u finally becomes possessed by an evil spirit, turning the story into something darker and more intense. This twist has kept viewers on edge, fueling online discussions and increasing the anticipation for upcoming episodes.

So, does that mean the evil deity is finally taking control? Yes. Thanks to Yeom-hwa, who has been continuing her dark rituals to gain more power against the shamans.

A major twist in the latest K-drama, Head Over Heels, has left fans speculating about Gyeon-u's fate. As seen in Episode 6, Gyeon-u is no longer his usual self. He appears to be controlled by an incredibly powerful and dark energy, most likely the very evil deity Yeom-hwa has been worshiping.

By the end of the episode, Kim Jin-ung ends up at the haunted house, hoping to escape his abusive father. However, little did he know that the evil spirit Bong Soo is inside the house, and anyone who goes inside might not return.

The dog's spirit that roams around with Jin-ung informs Seong-ah about him, and when the shaman tries to help Jin-ung, a transformed Gyeon-u appears. From his expressions to his words, Gyeon-u looks eerily different.

He grabs Seong-ah and says, "Hello, shaman. Shouldn't you say hello back?" with haunting music in the background, confirming that Bong Soo is released from its seal inside an old, abandoned house.

The timing isn’t a coincidence. Gyeon-woo’s possession is a direct result of this spirit being unleashed. Earlier in the same episode, Yeom-hwa first broke the seal and soaked the doll in her own blood, with just one more sacrifice left to make to the evil deity.

Jin-ung's timing was wrong as he ended up in that house and becomes the first prey. However, he does die suddenly, and soon Gyeon-u also arrives and then the evil spirit takes control over his body.

Head Over Heels teases Gyeon-u’s ongoing fight for control

tvN has shared another preview of the upcoming episodes of Head Over Heels, in which Gyeon-u will struggle to control himself. Since the evil spirit has also taken over, he will keep switching between himself and the dark force.

Only Seong-ah can save him, as her touch forces the evil spirit to retreat. The preview even shows Gyeon-u’s eyes turning red when the evil takes over and blue when he’s back to himself, a detail that’s intense but also a little funny in the way it plays out onscreen.

But humor aside, time is running out. The final day of the 21-day curse is almost here, and Seong-ah must act fast if she wants to save Gyeon-u from his doomed fate.

So, don't forget to tune back in to Head Over Heels next week on tvN and Amazon Prime Video.
