Is Elektra in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2? Elodie Yung's latest photo has fans in a frenzy about her upcoming role

As Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 wrapped up production two weeks ago, speculations run rampant about the upcoming season. One of these speculations is the return of Elektra Natchios, as played by Elodie Yung. For those who don't remember, Yung's version of Elektra was introduced in 2016, with Daredevil Season 2, which streamed on Netflix.

Introduced as Murdock's college romantic partner, Elektra's presence had Matt isolate his friends and even resulted in the closure of his firm. Elektra's death in the Season 2 finale made Matt swear off his vigilante side temporarily until 2017's The Defenders, which was a team-up series. Elektra's return in The Defenders made her the antagonist of the series again.

The Defenders ended with a building collapsing on her and Matt. But since then, Elektra's fate seems uncertain, but since Matt survived the building's collapse, there are chances that the same can be said for her, too. Recently, actress Elodie Yung posted an image of herself with a new hairstyle, prompting Marvel fans to believe that she is returning as Elektra in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Elodie Yung's Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 "tease" explained:

As mentioned before, the image above was the actress's latest photo that was posted on July 22, 2025. She hinted at her new haircut along with the devil emoji, making fans speculate that she was returning to Marvel with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, or any of the subsequent seasons of shows.

However, it should be noted that the image's geolocation is listed as Spain, and Born Again Season 2 was filmed in New York. But that doesn't mean that she isn't returning to Marvel, just that she probably is not a part of Daredevil: Born Again's second season. Furthermore, she and Marvel Executive Sana Amanat have both expressed hope for Elektra's return.

Yung, in an interview with POC Culture this April, said that she would be happy to return as Elektra in the MCU. And, Sana Amanat said this to Entertainment Weekly in February 2025 when asked about Elektra:

"One-hundred percent it's in the back of our heads. Eventually we'll try to figure out a bit more with that."

Then, there is also the return of Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, which has many believing that Yung will reprise her role of Elektra Natchios in the second season of Born Again or any of the possible Disney+ Marvel shows.

We already know that Jessica Jones will play a role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

After months of subtly hinting at her Marvel return, Krysten Ritter's return as Jessica Jones was officially confirmed in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on May 13, 2025. Jessica Jones was officially confirmed to appear in Born Again Season 2 during Disney's presentation at the Upfront event. Sharing the stage with Charlie Cox, Ritter said this:

“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU. I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”

Since then, many believe that Born Again Season 2 might feature the return of Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones' Danny Rand/Iron Fist as well. Now, we can add Elodie Yung's Elektra to the list as well.
