Actress Krysten Ritter touched upon her role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 while discussing the latest episode of Dexter: Resurrection. It has been known since May that Jessica Jones is indeed returning to the MCU through the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. Her return also officially cononizes The Defenders into the MCU, meaning we can get Luke Cage and Iron Fist as well.
As mentioned above, Ritter sat down for an interview with Collider to discuss the sixth episode of Dexter: Resurrection, in which her character supposedly meets her end. The interview slowly steered towards Krysten Ritter's stunning return in not one but two long-running franchises. Speaking about her return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Ritter said this:
“To revisit [Jessica] and go deeper with her, back to back with this? It’s everything that you dream of.”
Ritter also speaks about her contrasting roles in Dexter: Resurrection and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2:
In the same Collider interview, Krysten Ritter's and the interviewer's conversation shifted to the starkly different nature of the former's characters in the upcoming Born Again Season 2 and Dexter: Resurrection. Her character Mia LaPierre in Resurrection is a serial killer dubbed "Lady Vengeance" by the press. Contrarily, Ritter plays a superhero, trying her best to help others in the MCU.
The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 herself addressed the contrasting nature of these two roles:
“Creatively, for me as a performer, getting to play both of these roles back to back, something very new and fresh, very different, [Mia’s] very glamorous and dangerous. And then this superhero, a character that I worked so hard on, that I know in my body, I love her — that’s so rare to have a character like her. I think she’s one of the coolest female characters ever, and to have that comeback story.”
It is clear from this quote that the Jessica Jones actress is happy to return to this iconic role. As for the contrasting nature, it can simply be said that it is just the actor's job to play different roles.
When is Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 releasing?
