The series is described as one of those shows that focuses on the daily lives of the characters. It highlights the various challenges they face, how they overcome them, and what they learn from them. From Lee Jong-suk to Im Seong-jae, the characters have different personalities, yet they all come together to form this unique group called ‘Associate Lawyers Avengers’.
Here's a look at the cast and characters of Law and the City.
Law and the City cast and character guide
1) Lee Jong-suk as Ahn Joo-hyung
Lee Jong-suk’s character Joo-hyung in Law and the City is described as someone who became a lawyer solely because of his love for logic and reasoning, making him an outstanding associate lawyer at Kyungmin Law Firm.
He has nine years of experience and is content with his work, without wanting to own his own law firm. The 35-year-old actor has appeared in several popular dramas, including Pinocchio, where he starred opposite Park Shin-hye, Doctor Stranger, and Big Mouth, which became a global success.
2) Moon Ga-young as Kang Hee-ji

Ga-young is Hee-ji in "Law and the City," a second-year Associate lawyer at Johwa Law Firm. Dedicated to her job, Hee-ji’s personality is the opposite of Joo-hyung’s, as she cares more about people and solving their problems rather than just applying logic. Moon Ga-young is a popular name in K-dramas and has appeared in the hit romance drama "True Beauty" with Cha Eun-woo. She has also appeared in Welcome to Waikiki 2 and, most recently, My Dearest Nemesis with Weak Hero’s Choi Hyun-wook.
3) Ryu Hye-young as Bae Moon-jung
You might have seen Ryu Hye-young in many popular dramas, such as Reply 1988, where she played Bo-ra, the older and strict sister of Deok-sun, who was seen screaming at her family and even at Sun-woo, with whom she falls in love. She also appeared in another popular legal drama called Law School. In Law and the City, Hye-young will play Moon-jung, an overly competitive but kind associate lawyer who loves gourmet food and acts as the leader of the group of lawyers.
4) Kang You-seok as Jo Chang-won

The Resident Playbook star and member of the fictional Kpop boy group, HI-BOYZ, has appeared on several popular shows this year. Besides the Netflix medical drama, You-seok also played the younger brother of IU’s Guem-myeong in When Life Gives You Tangerines. You-seok’s character Chang-won in Law and the City is described as an enthusiastic lawyer known for his talkative nature, whether in work or casual settings.
5) Im Seong-jae as Kang Sang-ki

The fifth member of ‘Associate Lawyers Avengers’ in Law and the City is Seong-jae's Sang-ki. Sang-ki is described as a character many people in the real world find relatable. From getting excited when receiving a paycheck to taking pictures of food for social media, Sang-ki is like most adults today. The actor has also appeared in popular K-dramas like Worst of Evil, Newtopia starring Blackpink’s Jisoo, and a movie called Nocturnal, among others.
