Mike is in a rough place in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 as Kyle is in prison and the new prison warden holds the key to the other’s safety. Six episodes in, the screws are tightening on Mike and Kyle. The new warden, Nina Hobbs, is a problem for both Kyle (even more so) and Mike. Apart from Kyle's well-being, Mike is also worried about a rival who threatens his business.

The sixth episode hints that Mike may have to face his toughest opponent in Frank Moses, who has been his and Bunny's ally. The synopsis for episode 6 reads:

"The cartel war reaches new heights when a deadly attack reverberates through town; Mike makes a bargain with the devil to save his brother."

Bunny is hospitalized in this episode, and his life might be in danger, thus setting up a hook for Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7, which is airing next Sunday.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7 release date and time:

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7, "My Way", will stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, December 07, 2025. You can stream the episode at 12:00 AM PT/ 03:00 AM ET. Based on the official synopsis of the seventh episode, it seems that Mike may have finally found a way to get Kyle out of prison. As that happens, Moses makes his next move.

"Mike hatches a plan to grant Kyle's freedom, saddling Ian with an agonizing task; Moses makes a play that sparks consequences for cartel leadership."

What happens in episode 6?

The sixth episode, "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" spent a lot of time on Kyle's situation in the prison after his transfer to gen pop in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 6. Mike advises Kyle to avoid joining Merle Callahan's gang after learning about his brother's transfer. However, one of Callahan's men helps out Kyle not one but two times in this episode.

Kyle's life was in danger for the second time when the Colombians brutally attacked him. This encounter lays the foundation for a potential rift between Mike and Kyle in upcoming episodes.

But the most shocking reveal in this episode was Moses's possible role in this season. Played by Lennie James, Moses was introduced as a Detroit gangster who is an ally to Mike and Bunny. The previous episodes misled us to believe that the Cartel was targeting Bunny. However, the sixth episode clarifies that the Cartel never saw Mike or Bunny as a threat. Instead, they want to settle scores with Moses.

In an earlier episode of season 4, Moses murdered some Russian gang members, who turned out to be the allies of the Cartels. Since then, Moses has been escalating the violence against the Cartel, including possibly burning Bunny’s train last week. Moses aims to turn Kingstown into a war zone to get an opportunity to rebuild the town.

Meanwhile, Hobbs strikes a deal with Mike in which she will transfer Kyle safely back to ad seg in exchange for getting Moses arrested. Mike successfully tricks Moses for a short interrogation, but things take a turn when an inmate attempts to shoot the Detroit gangster. But the episode reveals that Moses set this attempt up, hinting that he might be this season's big bad.
