Vince Gilligan's upcoming show Pluribus has released a 21-second teaser that has fans buzzing. If you thought the legend was done creating unsettling worlds after Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, it's time to guess again.

The clip shows Rhea Seehorn's Carol Sturka arriving at Westgate. A massive sign flashes, "WELCOME, CAROL." But Carol doesn't stick around to find out why. Instead, she slams her car into reverse and revs out of there!

Apple TV+ shared the teaser on X (formerly Twitter) with a cryptic description: "Enjoy your stay, Carol. (202) 808-3981 #Pluribus — November 7." Fans are already wondering if it's one of Gilligan’s signature Easter eggs.

But the main takeaway is that sometimes leaving is smart.

What we know about Pluribus so far

For those catching up, Vince Gilligan has a new show called Pluribus (technically it is PLUR1BUS). It's a sci-fi drama set in Albuquerque, but don't expect more drug cartels. This time, it's about a strange kind of plague.

The story follows Carol, an author who notices something's off. Everyone around her gets infected with a virus that makes them permanently, unnervingly happy. They're content...too content. Carol seems to be the only one unaffected. Imagine being surrounded by smiling, cheerful people while you're the lone person who senses something's wrong. That's her reality.

The show stars Rhea Seehorn (who's worked with creator Vince Gilligan many times before) playing Carol Sturka. She's joined by Karolina Wydra as Zosia and Carlos Manuel Vesga as Manusos. Fans might also spot familiar faces like Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte popping up in guest spots.

After seven months of filming wrapped up in Albuquerque last September, Apple TV+ greenlit two seasons straight away. Viewers won't have to wait long between episodes, either. The first two arrive on November 7, 2025, with new episodes dropping every Friday until the finale on December 26.

Given Gilligan's reputation, audiences can look forward to his signature tension, which builds slowly, and twists that leave us rethinking it all.

Fans are already buzzing over the new teaser

Despite its brief length, the teaser for Pluribus sparked immediate reactions on X. One viewer expressed: "Carol, girl, drive far, far away!!" --- channeling the collective worry that the character should flee danger.

Another fan posted: "CANNOT WAIT," as they await Vince Gilligan's new project. We assume Pluribus might echo the scale of Gilligan's past hits.

As Rhea Seehorn (Emmy-nominated for playing Kim Wexler) is set to lead this series, we'd love to see her steer a Gilligan universe!

Gilligan has always known how to say a lot with very little. Think of that pink teddy bear floating in Walter White's pool in Breaking Bad, won't you?

This new 21-second teaser for Pluribus does something similar!

We don't learn much about Westgate. We don't know why Carol is being "welcomed." And we definitely don't see what's waiting behind that bright, glowing sign. But you feel the dread right away --- it’s already there in your gut. That’s why it’s no surprise when Carol turns and drives away instead.

The show’s built on the idea of pushing against fake positivity.

Carol’s instinct to bolt is a quiet rebellion. If just the teaser leaves you this unsettled, fans might start side-eyeing every billboard, forced smile, and cheerful "welcome" sign they see come autumn.
