"As Flag puts everyone around him in increasing danger, the 11th Street Kids must convince Peacemaker that he's one of them."
In addition to an exciting future, Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 also has several easter eggs that will keep DC fans excited.
Easter eggs and DC references in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8:
Here are some of the DC easter eggs and references in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8:
- Big Belly Burger

The episode opens with Chris and Emilia inside Big Belly Burger, a popular restaurant franchise in DC Comics. Fans of the Arrowverse will recognize Big Belly Burger, as it frequently appeared on screen in the CW shows.
- Looney Tunes
The episode namedrops both Pepe Le Pew and Yosemite Sam. While Emilia refers to a heckler as Yosemite Sam, Langston Fleury namedrops Pepe Le Pew. This is not surprising because both DC and Looney Tunes are owned by Warner Bros.
- Zombies
One of the many universes that the A.R.G.U.S. agents explore in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 is a universe overrun by zombies. We don't see any heroes protecting this universe. However, there is precedent to this as 2019's comic book storyline, DCeased, is set in a universe infected by a zombie virus, and several heroes are infected in the process.
- Belle Reeve/ Arkham
We learn that Rick Flag Sr. intends to transfer meta-human prisoners to a seemingly quaint and scenic planet referred to as "Salvation". He points to the breakouts from Belle Reeve and Arkham as the justification for deporting metahuman prisoners to a different planet. But Salvation itself is a huge setup.
- Salvation
Sasha Bordeaux and Emilia are the ones to discover a scenic planet in this episode. While they initially believe that the dangerous expedition was to solve the Earth's problem, Rick Flag Sr. reveals to the Secretary of Defense that this planet can serve as a prison and points out the breakouts from Arkham and Belle Reeve. Sasha is in this meeting and feels disillusioned.
It seems that she, Fleury, and Judomaster have resigned from A.R.G.U.S. and joined Leota Leota Adebayo's security firm along with other 11th Street Kids, which is named...
- Checkmate

Adebayo's security firm finally takes shape in the Peacemaker Season 2 finale. She was struggling with convincing people about her firm's legitimacy in the previous episodes of season 2, but it seems that she has figured it out in episode 8. In the comics, it is a spy organization associated with Sasha Bordeaux; however, it is unclear if the DCU will take Checkmate on the espionage route or not.
- Darkseid
As mentioned earlier, "Salvation" looks seemingly quaint on the surface. However, the closing minutes of the episode reveal something sinister. Chris is abducted and marooned on the unknown planet by A.R.G.U.S. under Rick Flag Sr.'s orders. As the QUC portal closes, Chris hears some sinister voices on the planet, and the screen cuts to black.
Firstly, it is important to note that Salvation has a basis in the comics, where Waller and Flag send several supervillains across the DC Universe to a seemingly quaint planet, which turns out to be Apokolips' training planet under Darkseid's minion DeSaad. We hear just the screams in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8. If Gunn is indeed adapting the comic book storyline, there is a good chance that the screaming creatures might be Parademons.
These are some of the easter eggs we noticed in the Peacemaker Season 2 finale. Let us know if we missed something. As of now, the entire second season is accessible via streaming on HBO Max.
