Peacemaker Season 2 streamed its very first episode on August 21, 2025. This episode is filled with countless easter eggs to the wider DC Universe (DCU). But the most important ones are those of one particular DC character, Batman. The episode mentions Arkham Asylum by name, name-drops Blüdhaven, and introduces A.R.G.U.S. agent Sasha Bordeaux, a minor Batman character.

Titled The Ties That Grind, Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 1 follows Christopher Smith/Peacemaker visiting an alternate universe where he gets all that he wishes. The synopsis for this introductory episode reads:

"While Peacemaker attempts to join the Justice Gang, Harcourt struggles to find work, and Economos takes on a challenging new assignment."

The Batman easter eggs in Peacemaker Season 2 explained:

We already know that actress Sol Rodríguez is playing the character of Sasha Bordeaux. But she is not the only connection to Batman in this Peacemaker Season 2 episode. Early in the episode, a newsreel on the television discusses several metahuman (the term used for super-powered individuals) breakouts. It is here that the reporter mentions Arkham by name.

After the news reel, the second Batman easter egg is that of the city of Blüdhaven. For those who don't know, this is where Richard Grayson, the first Robin, Batman's sidekick, and his first adopted son. After growing up, Richard gave up the mantle of Robin and rechristened himself as Nightwing, who protected the streets of Blüdhaven. The city is mentioned twice in the episode as the alternate Chris is in Blüdhaven.

But the most important Batman reference here is Sasha Bordeaux.

Who is Peacemaker Season 2's Sasha Bordeaux?

We meet this version of Sasha for the first time in the first episode of season 2 as A.R.G.U.S. detects the usage of a QUC in Christopher Smith's residence. A.R.G.U.S., now, is headed by Rick Flag Sr. instead of Amanda Waller, and he finally learns who is responsible for his son's death. Now that he is the A.R.G.U.S. director, Flag Sr. is monitoring Christopher, hoping that the latter would commit a punishable offence.

One of the agents involved in surveilling Christopher is Sasha Bordeaux, who in the comics is a minor Batman character. In the comics, she is a former Secret Service agent hired by Lucius Fox to be a bodyguard for Bruce Wayne. However, she discovers that Bruce is Batman, and she is even trained by him.

As of now, it is unclear if Sol Rodríguez's Sasha has a history with Batman or not. At the red carpet premiere, when Rodríguez was asked about her character's history with the DCU's Caped Crusader, she claimed ignorance, saying:

"Oh my God. So I never spoke about that with James, but I would like to think that she knows, and that’s part of her recent past, but I never really discussed it with James. I hope that, crossing my fingers, in the future, he writes something about that and I can bring that to life with Batman. I would love that. It would be such a dream. That’d be really cool, but I read all about it online and as much as I could, and I love that. So bada**."

The Peacemaker Season 2 premiere is currently available via streaming on HBO Max.
