The new update regarding Foggy Nelson's role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has fans confused

While Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is still six months away, it was confirmed that Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson would be returning in the upcoming series. Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum confirmed so during his appearance on Brandon Davis' podcast on March 5, 2025, just a day after the first two episodes of Born Again Season 1 were released.

For the uninitiated, Henson's Foggy was killed in the first five minutes of the season 1 premiere. Bullseye/Benjamin Poindexter is the one who pulled the trigger on the bullet that sealed Foggy's fate in Born Again Season 1. We also see Foggy die in the series, and therefore, it was shocking to learn that he is set to return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

How can Foggy Nelson return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

Well, if Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 were to follow the comic, then the writers working on the series were to follow the comics, then Foggy faked his death. However, as mentioned before, we do see Foggy breathe his last in the first episode of Born Again, Season 1, Episode 1, 'Heaven's Half Hour.' Thus, one of the most likely scenarios for Foggy's return lies in Daredevil Season 3.

In one of the episodes of Daredevil Season 3, we see adult Matt interact with his dead father. However, it becomes clear that his father is just Matt's inner voice, who has taken the form of his father. But it should be noted that, as of now, we don't know how Foggy is returning in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum said this while discussing Foggy's death:

"I see Karen and Foggy as being intrinsically tied to Matt. I don't think there's a Matt Murdock story without those two characters, and I'm excited to see them both in season two as well."

Then, confirming that Foggy is returning, Winderbaum continued:

"Both Deborah [Ann Woll] and Elden are coming back for season two."

Therefore, it looks like the issue is resolved, and that Elden Henson will indeed be a part of Born Again Season 2's cast. But Henson's recent comments to a fan at a convention have people confused about whether the actor is a part of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 or not.

What did Elden Henson say?

A fan recently attended a convention where he encountered Foggy Nelson actor, Elden Henson, something they uploaded on their Instagram handle. The fan asked the actor about Nelson, Murdock & Page's address, sharing numbers with the comic that revealed that Foggy faked his death. Hearing this, Henson responded:

"A lot of people brought that up. But I don't really know that much about it to be honest. When we started the show, the original one, I just didn't have a lot of time to prepare, you know what I mean. So the answer is, I have no idea."

He added:

"They killed me off the show so I'm not a part of it anymore. So I don't really know, even if there was something going on."

There are two scenarios based on the actor's comments. The first one is that his role was cut, which is highly unlikely. However, the more likely scenario is that Henson is taking a page out of Andrew Gatfield's playbook and not revealing his role until the last minute.
