The Rainmaker Episode 8 recap: Rudy takes charge of Dot’s case from Bruiser

In Episode 8 of The Rainmaker, the focus has now completely shifted to Dot's case. To prove Pritcher as the killer, Rudy remembers that Jackie might be of great help and begins to look for her.

He also learns about Prince's involvement in the case, and with Bruiser's father now out of prison, the challenges in solving the case become more difficult. While Bruiser's dad decides to drop the case, Rudy takes the lead and resigns from the firm.

Furthermore, the episode also reveals that Bruiser is also among the suspects of killing Rosalie, without even knowing about her death.

The Rainmaker Episode 8 recap: Rudy and Deck look for Jackie

In the previous episode of The Rainmaker, Rudy, Bruiser, and her team helped Kelly move on with her life without the threat of her abusive ex-husband, whom she killed. Therefore, Episode 8 brought back their focus on Dot Black's case, and they realised that Jackie would be the one who could put Pricther behind bars.

As a result, Rudy and Deck decide to look for Jackie and find out where Pritcher has kept her hidden. They follow Pritcher after his court hearing to a storage unit. However, they learn that they were not the only ones looking for Pritcher as Prince, the bar owner is seen taking Pritcher from pointing a gun at him.

However, they do not see Jackie with him and assume that either of them might have killed the former. But it turns out Jane had rescued Jackie from the storage unit before Prince arrived.

The Rainmaker Episode 8 recap: Rudy resigns and takes over the case

Many new developments took place in Episode 8 of The Rainmaker. Rudy confronted Prince about what he saw in the storage unit, with the former telling him to turn a blind eye toward it. He also realises that if not Jackie, her ex Charlie might know something about her or the case.

Therefore, he goes to the hospital to meet him. However, to his luck, he encounters Jackie in the hospital, whom he tries to convince that he is on her side, but the woman runs away from there. But this chance meeting also made it clear to him that Jackie was safe for now from Prince and Pritcher.

Furthermore, Bruiser's dad, who is now out of prison, decides to drop Dot's case, saying that she signed with him and not Bruiser. However, this gives Rudy the opportunity to take over the case completely and resigns from Bruiser's firm, who also lets Deck go to work with Rudy by firing him.

The Rainmaker Episode 8 recap: Brad's jealousy toward Sarah is revealed

In Episode 8 of The Rainmaker, tension between Sarah and Brad appears. It is later revealed that Brad might be feeling jealous of Sarah's achievements in a short amount of time in the firm, and also that she got the job only because of her father.

However, Sarah is not deterred by Brad's outburst, which came out due to his insecurity. She still focused on her case and helped Keeley prepare for it. Keeley suggests that Sarah get out of Leo's firm, but to no avail. She asks him to share the good things he did when he took the stand in the case.

Furthermore, more about Rosalie is shared in the episode as we learn that she stayed with Bruiser for some days before she was taken by Prince and Bruiser's dad to escape to Canada. However, after Rosalie's body was found, Bruiser also became a suspect in the murder plot of the former.
