America's Got Talent has been one of the renowned talent shows. It is a huge platform for talented performers to showcase their skills. Everyone is invested in the participants and backstories, which sometimes overshadow their skills.

Participants' journey has been quite challenging, but it should not overshadow their talent. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and has a special talent. They are selected for the talent show based on these skills.

However, sometimes, such things have been happening, and that can't be overlooked, as it won't be fair to the rest of the participants and their talent. Additionally, such emotional backstories might also result in giving Golden Buzzers to the participants. What do you think about the effects of such emotional stories from the participants on AGT?

America's Got Talent Season 20: Emotional backstories and struggles should not be the primary focus, but the skills and performances

Every participant in a talent show has been through their fair share of struggles and challenges throughout their journey. While the journey is an essential aspect for any of us, being a performer on a talent show is more about the performance and the skills it shows. Judges and viewers should also keep this in mind while learning about specific struggles from the performers.

Recently premiered America's Got Talent Season 20 featured quite amazing performances and went through its auditions. One of them was Jourdan Blue, a street performer. New Orleans-based Jourdan's performance was quite emotionally charged, and his backstory, even more emotional.

As he revealed his homelessness and how he has been performing on the streets and showcasing his skills, it deeply resonated with the judges and the audience. Undoubtedly, he went through a lot, and then with his talent and singing skills, he has reached such a global platform.

However, it should not be the factor on which he should be moving forward in the competition. His skills showcased throughout his performance should be the factor that gets him advanced in the show. Fans also witnessed one of the judges, Howie Mandel, offering a Golden Buzzer to Jourdan. It meant he advanced to America's Got Talent's Live Shows.

While each one of us has been through our struggles while making our way towards achieving our goals. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Performances on the talent show should be focused more on the "talent" part, rather than their struggles and emotional backstories.

It is not a competition to share their backstories and get everyone emotional, but a talent show that should focus on and judge based on the skills and the performance itself.

Understandably, everyone wants to know more about certain performers and how they have reached where they are right now. Additionally, their backstories and how they overcame their struggles can also be quite inspiring for others. But the judging of such performances should strictly be based on their talent and skills.
