A Man Is Only as Good as His Bird, which is the second episode of Peacemaker Season 2, introduces us to a new character: Langston Fleury, played by actor Tim Meadows. A new creation for the show, Fleury is an A.R.G.U.S. agent who is sent to supervise Steve Agee's John Economos. He is a boastful man who can annoy anyone around him.
He and Economos are surveilling Chris to check if he is using his interdimensional portal, i.e., the QUC.. But this Peacemaker Season 2 episode also revealed his hilarious weakness: supposed "bird blindness".
Peacemaker Season 2's Langston Fleury explained:
We meet Fleury for the very first time in this episode of Peacemaker Season 2 as one of the A.R.G.U.S. agents. He joins John Economos while keeping a watch on Christopher. It is also revealed that Economos was going to meet Chris and the other 11th Street Kids that night, and that unbeknownst to him, Fleury and a handful of other A.R.G.U.S. agents were going to investigate Chris's place.
He also suffers from "bird blindness", i.e., he can't tell the differences between different birds. The episode also sets up his weakness multiple times before it comes into play in the second act of the episode as he and some A.R.G.U.S. agents are attacked by Eagly. He even loses one agent to the Peacemaker's eagle.
James Gunn, in the latest episode of Peacemaker: The Official Podcast with James Gunn, revealed that he got the idea behind Fleury's blindness from one of his friends who forgets faces. However, it should also be noted that he is one of the rudest people in the series. He does not even bother to learn his colleagues' names, as noted by the insensitive names he gives them.
In a May 2025 Entertainment Weekly interview, James Gunn described Langston Fleury like this:
"In a lot of ways, Peacemaker has changed a lot this season. He's a much softer guy, he's a much nicer guy, he's less in your face and less obnoxious and less aggressive. He has changed as a human being, so Langston Fleury actually takes up a lot of being a total a**hole in the same way Peacemaker was [last season]. He's a very politically incorrect a**hole throughout most of the season, and also an incredibly funny guy."
Now that we have seen the episode, it seems that Gunn's comments were spot on about this character.
What is Peacemaker Season 2 about?
Two episodes in, the second season of the acclaimed HBO Max DC series dabbles in the multiverse. Last week, Christopher discovered an alternate reality in which he is respected, and also has a loving family consisting of his father and an alive brother, Keith. However, the season 2 premiere ended on a shocking note as Chris accidentally kills his alternate self. This seems to be the inciting incident for the season.
"In season 2, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands."
Peacemaker Season 2 is currently available to stream on HBO Max. Other than that, the first season is also available to stream on the same OTT platform.
