The immigration status of Varya Malina, star of 90 Day Fiancé, has come under scrutiny following a recent arrest. Varya, who originally appeared on TV in season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, is now facing felony larceny charges in Tennessee.

She was apprehended on July 9, 2025, following an investigation into many suspected thefts at several Lowe's locations. The matter has generated online debate, particularly since fans recall previous cast members who have encountered legal problems.

Authorities have since made Varya's mugshot public, which has increased conjecture regarding her physical and mental health. With a Green Card obtained through the United States Diversity Visa Lottery, the allegations could have major ramifications for her future in the country. According to ScreenRant, immigration officials are keenly following the situation, as a conviction could result in her deportation.

Why was 90 Day Fiancé star Varya Malina arrested?

Varya Malina was arrested on felony theft charges in Knox County, Tennessee, on July 9, 2025, following the issuance of an arrest warrant linking her to many occurrences at Lowe's stores. As per Shabooty and 90dayfiance_alexa, police reports stated that the stores allegedly targeted were in Cookeville, West Knoxville, Alcoa, and Crossville.

Authorities claim that between February 20 and May 12, 2025, Varya made eight trips into these stores and took things valued between $1,000 and $2,500 before leaving without paying. The majority of her identification was based on security footage.

The video shows her entering the stores, and photographs from her social media accounts were used to confirm her identification. She was also allegedly caught on camera visiting a jailed car owner while wearing the same dress, tying her to the crime.

Theft is a Class E felony in Tennessee. If convicted, the 90 Day Fiancé cast member could face a $3,000 fine and a prison sentence of one to six years. Varya posted bond and was released from custody the same day.

She has now recognized the arrest on social media but has not entered a plea or provided any information about her defense. The case is being handled in Knox County, where some alleged thefts occurred.

According to the issued warrant, Varya is suspected of stealing $2,341.62 in items. She has yet to specify the date of her upcoming court appearance.

Following Varya's arrest, the Knox County Sheriff's Office issued her mugshot, which was widely shared by media outlets and influencers, including johnyates327tv. Fans of 90 Day Fiancé, accustomed to seeing her present herself in a very manicured manner online, were concerned about the photo.

Varya obtained her Green Card through the Diversity Visa Lottery, also known as the Green Card Lottery. This U.S. government program grants permanent citizenship to randomly selected nationals of countries with low immigration rates to the United States. Applicants must meet certain educational or work experience requirements and pass background checks to be eligible.

Varya is permitted to live and work in the United States as a lawful permanent resident. However, if the holder is found guilty of specific offenses, such as felonies, their Green Card status may be withdrawn.

Removal proceedings may follow a theft conviction, contingent on the circumstances and classification. When deciding whether or not a person can remain in the United States, the immigration system considers their criminal history.
