After receiving all the love from fans, Jung So-min and Choi Woo-shik's latest rom-com, Would You Marry Me, has finally come to an end. The K-drama became a fan-favorite right from the first episode as viewers didn't just enjoy the chemistry but also the story packed with humor, heartfelt, and emotional moments.

Would You Marry Me episode 12 (finale) recap: All the conflicts reach their boiling points

The last episode of Would You Marry Me pulls together all the ongoing tensions by throwing everyone into a final storm. It begins with Sang-hyun and Sung-woo's conversation, during which Sung-woo asks Sang-hyun to take the blame, and if he makes it through, his father will make it worth it.
This disappoints Sang-hyun, who has always seen Sung-woo as a loyal friend. However, Sung-woo's words make it clear that he only saw Sang-hyun as someone he could use and now wants him to throw himself in front of the prosecutors.
On the other side, Wu-ju continues to plot against Me-ri and Woo-joo, rehearsing for the press conference where he plans to expose the scandal. However, Wu-ju has always proved to be a fool, and the way he prepares the speech seems like he's once again going to face a setback.
He then receives Me-ri's call and thinks she might want to reconcile. But little does he know that Me-ri and Woo-joo love each other, and now they're planning to make it official.

Woo-joo and Me-ri walk down the aisle in the finale of Would You Marry Me

As the last episode of Would You Marry Me Continues, Me-ri explains to Wu-ju that he should stop plotting against people, including Woo-joo. She then leaves the luxurious house with Woo-joo, and this time, their relationship is no longer tied to contracts, lies or obligations.
They finally get space to decide for themselves what they want. When Me-ri gets an offer from the company that once tempted her with fame, she rejects the offer, suggesting that she's moving towards healthy choices, not desperate ones
Things soon take an unexpected turn in the finale of Would You Marry Me when Woo-joo's grandmother learns how Me-ri got the luxurious house. This makes it difficult for her to accept Me-ri as her grandson's wife because she has been lying since the beginning.
However, Woo-joo knew everything and he was a part of Me-ri's plan. So, he gathers courage and proposes to Me-ri with his grandmother's ring. He explains that Me-ri needs time but that he will wait. And when Me-ri meets Woo-joo's grandmother in person, she's accepted warmly, suggesting that this new bond is based on honesty and real feelings.

After all that Sung-woo did, Sang-hyun was forced to prepare for prison. However, he gets the happy ending that he deserves by the end of Would You Marry Me. Jin-gyeong supports him unconditionally, and she runs with him in the mornings and keeps writing letters during his sentence.
This strengthens their bond and even brings a second chance for them. The finale then shows how everyone's doing after a year, and luckily, they're growing in life. Woo-joo becomes the CEO of his grandmother’s company. Me-ri’s mother’s small shop becomes popular and successful.
Sang-hyun finishes his time in prison and finally steps into a calmer life. The final wedding scene in the garden shows Woo-joo and Me-ri truly beginning their life together.

Will there be a Would You Marry Me Season 2?

Would You Marry Me Season 2 is unlikely to happen as the finale wrapped up all the stories. As explained above, Me-ri and Woo-joo tie the knot, while Sung-hyun also gets out of prison.
As for their families, Me-ri's mother and Woo-joo's grandmother are incredibly happy. Even their business are doing good and there's no current scandal going on. So, there are no cliffhangers or unresolved threads.
