Damian lamented to Lily that he had to fire Holden per Dumas' instructions. Lily asked how she could help. Damian said that Lily could give his buddy a job. Lily admitted to feeling bad that Holden had paid the price for her idea to have Damian spy on Dumas for her. Lily said she would need to talk to Devon and Nate, but they would try to give Holden a job. She wondered how Holden would feel about Damian being his boss.

Lily revealed that Audra mentioned Damian has a temper. He admitted he could fly off the handle at times and added it would be nice to have someone in his life who could help him be better.

Damian said he’d never been on a dating app as he preferred to meet people face to face. Lily appreciated Damian being open and pointed out that she doesn’t share with everyone that Neil was not her biological dad. Lily suggested they talk about why Damian has been single for so long.

Holden arrived and took Lily’s place at the table. Damian broke the news to his buddy that he’d been fired. Holden accused Damian of throwing him under a bus. Damian said they were both fired, not by Dumas but by his assistant. He had hoped that Dumas would give Holden his old job. Damian said that Lily was on board to bring Holden on at Winters. Damian didn’t want to hear it. “Don’t do me any more favors – friend!” Holden said. “I think it’s time for us to make a clean break."

Amy celebrated her improved health in Chancellor Park with Nate and Audra. She announced that she had decided to remain in Genoa City. Nate pointed out that she played a big role in her getting well. Amy enthusiastically shared that she wanted to spend time with her new friend, Audra, and the man she considered a second son. The trio shared a group hug.

Nate invited Amy to live with him until a place could be found for Amy and Damian. Amy agreed. Audra suggested lunch. Lily arrived and complimented Amy on how she looked. Nate let Lily know that Amy was going to move to Genoa City.

After Amy and Audra left for lunch, Nate asked his cousin what she thought about Dumas’s mysterious invitation. Nate believed that the invitation from Dumas sounded sketchy. Lily felt she had to go, but Nate told her she didn’t have to. She admitted she was surprised Nate and Audra weren’t invited. Nate hoped that someday Lily would see what he saw in Audra.

Lily thanked Nate for holding down Winters while she and Devon went to France to meet Dumas. He encouraged her cousin to make a love connection while abroad. Lily insisted that nothing was happening between her and Damian. Then, Nate theorized that Holden wouldn’t take it well that he was being let go from his job. Lily broached the idea of bringing Holden on at Winters. Nate wondered if there was even a spot for him. Lily asked Nate to think about it. She added that she felt responsible for both Damian and Holden’s firing. Nate marveled that Dumas seemed to have a hand in so much that was happening. Nate doubted Dumas would show up at his party. Lily insisted she was going to meet Dumas and get the truth. “Failure is not an option,” she stated.

Amy and Audra came upon Damian and Holden at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Audra surmised by Holden’s demeanor that Damian told him he was out of a job. Then, Victor called Audra and demanded her immediate presence. She explained to Amy that she had to go. Amy joined Damian. He lamented that Holden felt betrayed. Amy took her son’s hand and told him that she was there for him.

Amy playfully lamented that she had no jobs to hand out to Damian for Holden. Then, she seriously asked what she could do to help him. Damian wondered what kind of peace offering he could give to Holden. Amy wisely pointed out that the true answer would come from inside his heart.

Victoria and Claire tended to Cole, who was very sick again, at the tack house. “I’m worried about you,” Victoria told him. Claire felt her dad’s forehead and said he was warm. Cole continued to cough and said he was worse than before.

“I feel like I got hit by a truck,” Cole shared as he continued to cough. He insisted this flu or bug needed to run its course. In between coughs, Cole insisted he was okay. A doctor came to examine Cole. Claire said that her dad’s temperature was between 102 and 103. The physician theorized Cole could have pneumonia, but he wouldn’t know for sure until Cole had tests at the hospital.

After the doctor left, Victoria made plans to take Cole to the hospital. Claire reluctantly agreed to stay behind, but she wanted to be kept in the loop. Cole continued to cough. “I need you to get better,” Claire told her dad. Cole noted that while he felt lousy, he also felt lucky.

Kyle arrived at Victor’s ranch house. He told Claire’s grandfather he was pleased to get Victor’s invitation. Victor advised him to hold off on that until he heard the response to Kyle’s proposal. Victor presented Kyle with a contract containing the offer Kyle had laid out verbally: If Kyle breaks Claire’s heart, he’ll pay the mogul five million dollars.

Kyle announced he’d do anything to make Claire happy. Victor pointed out that’s why he was there. He added he’d be willing to agree to Kyle’s contract. Kyle feared it was going to be bad news. “It will only be bad news when you decide to hurt my granddaughter,” Victor scoffed.

Kyle offered to have his lawyers draft a contract. Victor said that wouldn’t be necessary as he had his attorneys do the honors. Victor noted that Kyle would pay him five million dollars and leave town if and when he hurt Claire. Victor conceded he might have been wrong about Kyle, as he has made this commitment.

Kyle and Victor bantered back and forth a bit about Kyle having his attorney read the contract. Kyle wanted to know why Victor hated him. Was it because he’s Jack’s son? Victor rebuffed getting into that right now. Kyle signed Victor’s contract and promised the mogul he’d never need to enforce that. Victor said that Kyle signing the document was the beginning of proving he was wrong. The two men shook hands, and then, Kyle walked out.

Next, Audra arrived at the ranch. Victor informed her that when he demanded a meeting with her, the only word she should say was yes. Audra said she couldn’t make something between her and Kyle happen instantly. Victor let Audra know that something needed to have developed in this matter by the time he got back from France.

Audra pointed out that Kyle would be open to distractions should she and Kyle be invited to Dumas's home. She encouraged Victor to make sure they were both invited to the mysterious man’s big party in mid-June. Victor didn’t let on if he could or would do that as he wished Audra a good day. Later, Victor looked at the invitation from Dumas.

Kyle joined Claire at the tack house. She updated him that Cole may have pneumonia. “Cole’s a strong guy. He’s going to pull through,” Kyle assured Claire as he took her in his arms. Claire asked how Kyle’s meeting with Victor went. He said it was fine and he'd share details later.

Audra told Holden she took pity on him, so she visited him at Crimson Lights. He invited her to take a seat. She asked what was so urgent. Holden reminded Audra that she had said that she’d be his friend, and now, he could truly use one. He confessed to Audra that she was the only person who had ever gotten to know him. Holden told her she could leave if she wanted to. Instead, she reached out and took his hand.
