Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo addresses pregnancy rumors

For years, Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo was the subject of Internet gossip regarding a possible return to General Hospital. Now that the actress has returned to fans' television sets, 'net gossips have found another topic to chatter about.


Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo (Brenda Barrett) has responded to Internet rumors claiming that she's expecting. In a newly published interview, the actress sets the record straight -- and hints that she had no idea people were saying she was pregnant.


"Really? Why do people think that?" Marcil asked in an interview with Soap Opera Digest.


The actress went on to explain that recent health problems may be to blame for the rumor.


"I have no idea why they're thinking that but I lost 15 pounds before I started the show, which I was not happy about, because I had a few health issues," Marcil explained. "I'm hyperthyroid and I had all these bad allergies and was figuring out what was going on, so I've been on the mend and trying to gain weight. I just gained six pounds but that's because I'm trying to get back to my normal curvy-girl weight because I'd gotten a little skinny."


In an interview with soapcentral.com earlier this year, Marcil explained that she doesn't routinely check in online, so she is often unaware that people are even talking about her.


Marcil Giovinazzo returned to General Hospital in August, ending a seven-year absence from the show.
